There's a hope that we'll go back to some sort of mixed capitalism/socialism in the future because eventually there will be no workers as AI/robots will do all the work. It has already gone that way in manufacturing which is traditionally where the working classes sat although the working classes now get little benefit from it.

Ultimately eventually technology should ensure that we're all equal but I have my doubts that it'll end up that way.

There's a film called Elysium where the rich are living in comfort on a space station whilst the poor are back on Earth fighting for resources amongst themselves.... That's probably where we'll end up, not because of capitalism though but because human nature won't let us have it any other way as living is all about survival.

How many times in recorded history have humans or other species settled to share resources and live together in peace? Never is pretty much the answer.
 
Can't we have extermination programmes for undesirables until the population is back at sustainable levels.

We can keep David Icke and Alex Jones for comedic entertainment value but their boring anti-vax followers who parrot their thoughts uncritically should be first for the cull. Not because of they are evil, or stupid although some probably are.

Just because they would be boring company, if we are gonna start a new world we don't need legions of stone cutters/Greater gGood mob from Hot Fuzz.
