Yeah, I’ve just been to buy some Swiss Francs at the bank and the girl was making a bit of friendly chit chat asking me why I was going there?

Ended up asking me who was playing when I said it was just for football. Couldn’t even bring myself to say it. Just said, City and a team from Bern.

Seemed preferable to hollering across the bank that I’m off on holiday, watching young boys.

I managed to find an AirBnB for £135 in the old town. Hotels were generally £200+.

Don’t think even by recent standards in this country, they really do ‘reasonably priced’ in Switzerland.

May be better looking a few miles out of town for the prices to come down a little. They do have excellent local transport, so they’ll probably be a reliable bus or tram right into the city centre from pretty much anywhere in striking distance.

Gone for a hostel with breakie. Hoping it fills the belly as fast as it emptied the bank.

Flying to Koln then train down day before, back day after.
