Inspiral Carpets - Aston Villa Leisure Cente - Beast Inside tour.

Really got into going to gigs after that. Another great early one for me was Sultans of Ping F.C at Wolverhampton Wulfrun. Everyone pogoing down the front so went and joined in... being young and naive at the time i didn't realise this was foolish in my school shoes. One mosh too many and I was on my hands and knees looking for a shoe with fat hairy punks jumping all over me.... bought some Doc Martens soon after to see me through many years of moshing to come. Great memories.

I thought my first gig was The Wedding Present in 1992 at the Academy until you reminded me about the Beast Inside tour in 1991 in a post a few months ago. I saw them at a half full G-Mex but had wiped it from my mind as it was awful.

I've seen the Sultans as well, novelty but t'was a good night out. "Where's Me Jumper?" is always good for a laugh.

What about 'Give him a ball and a yard of grass, he'll give you a move with a silky pass, give him a ball and a yard of space, he'll give you a move with godly grace.... ....a man can have no greater love than giving ninety minutes to his friends.' Poetry. Pure poetry.

"Armitage Shanks" was the tune John Lennon failed to write as well.

1968 Winsford Civic Hall, The Kinks, my bloody heroes in those days !!

The Kinks in Winsford, so near, jeez, the most underated band ever. Didn't Alan Oakes and Glyn Pardoe come from Winsford.

My dad used to get free tickets for the Opera House as he used to put up a poster in his shop. They'd send a poster and include a couple of tickets for the show. I can't remember any of those I went to, but the one I remember as definate as a rock gig was Queen in 1979. Awesome. Was always a massive fan.

No one will ever come close to Mercury as an entertainer an front man. God rest his soul

In '79 Queen played the Apollo mate, musta been there then. They only gigged the Opera House once, as support to Mott.....though did the Palace in '74...

Saw Bad Co at the Apollo. Was a bit dissapointed that Paul Rodgers just sat at the piano, but what a voice.
