I was there at the the start of the MMA boom over here.
Ive done and fought in pretty much every art. Which i now teach.

I have to say that for usability and the pure simplicity it would be the Webley revolver. It may not be a looker but its so reliable and can stop a man dead over 20m away. Your rifght about the calibre of course, I'm no expert on ammunition, but .65 does sound very big.
years ago, I was told that the police had reccomended the use of heavier bullets in certain areas 6.5mm was mentioned - but I'll check it out
