Your first Away game.

Since i live in Australia i only got to see my first away game this year, it was the Chelsea game in which we smashed them, don't think i could have picked a better time!

Huddersfield away at their old Leeds road ground when we were promoted from the old second division....65/66 or poss 66/67.Got there at nearly half time cos me old fella thought it would only be an hour trip but had to park miles from the ground cos of all the blues that had descended on the place.
The place was rammed and I mean rammed...was only 10 years old and couldn't see hardly anything of the game but seem to remember that even then we had thousands all over the place and had taken over their end.Score...bit of a guess.. maybe a 1-1 draw. Can someone confirm or correct?
On the way back old fella and his mates stopped at a local pub for a few so there's me sat in the van with a packet of crisps and a lemonade...load of Hudders walked past giving me loads of shit...well frightened and never forget it.So shit happened even then.

living in nottingham, forest "away" 1980 was my first ever footy match.went on me own, stood on the bridgford end just across from the thousands of city fans.
in those days city NEVER won away and forest were a top side.we lost 4nil,trevor francis scored a hat trick past big joe.terrible result but for me,as a 13 year old who loved mancity,it was an incredible day,was so excited when the city team walked out and i saw tommy caton ,willie donachie and ray ranson etc etc for the first time.live.
Had my first experience of terrace humour when the teams were read out."and number three Willie donanchie" some forest wag shouted "huh, more like willie donkey!"..think our left back,s own goal for scotland was still fresh in their minds..

A couple of weeks later i saw city again at notts county,a mid-week friendly/testimonial(remember them??!!) for the notts coach jack wheeler-Big Mal and Tony brought the first team to meadow lane,a nice gesture for a well respected football man.think we won 2nil.

My first was Leeds away in the FA cup in '77,we lost to a Trevor Cherry goal,I got a slap off some bonehead and saw the old man paste him, while the coppers cleaned me up and turned their backs.
Most memorable was Birmingham away in the late eighties when I got talking to a bloke who drank at the pub my mum and dad ran,he told me he owned a coach and was due to ferry the guests to an aisan wedding in Birmingham, but it had been cancelled.
Two phone calls later we had 50 lads up for the trip to St.Andrews, and a bloke getting paid cash as well as his cancellation fee.
The coach was full when we left ,but due to the West Midlands police 12 of us made it back, and guess who had the job of telling the girlfriends, parents and wives what had gone on, me.It was easier facing the zulu warriors believe me.

Oldham away early to mid 90's I think? I also think we put 5 past them. Right when Coton should've been England No.1

Carlisle Utd 1984-don't remember a thing about it apart from eating a sausage roll in the high street befor kick off!

Coventry 1972..we lost 3-2 with goals from Buzzer and my idol at the time ..."OH RODNEY RODNEY...RODNEY RODNEY RODNEY RODNEY RODNEY MARSH"

got shit kicked out of us near the train station...happy days

Saturday 15th April 1989, my 7th birthday. Blackburn away, think we lost 4-0 or 4-1.
