at the minute mine would be
richards
dunney
toure
bridge

for fook sake we have`nt conceded a goal how can u drop any of them

I know what you mean and it seems harsh but Dunney still scares the shit out of me sometimes. For me it would have to be Micah Lescott Toure Bridge

Agreed 100%. It's a very good back four (helped by a very good keeper). I see why people are concerned by Dunne, but he's been brilliant thus far this season and does not deserve to be dropped at all. I'll say it again: we're the only ones who haven't conceded a goal yet this season. yes, it's only 2 games but going to Barca (albeit not with that same back 4 the entire game) and not conceding is quite a feat as well, even if it wasn't their strongest team.

I think hughes has got himself in a bit of a pickle with the lescott signing, he's paid 24 million for a defender so he cant justify not playing him but we have toure whois the leader at the back,Big ned (better centre half ) Kompany (potentially a better centre half) Dunne (just as good but club captain) bridge and sylvinho ( both natural full backs so always more likely to be selected) so where does lescott fit? hughes has some tough calls to make over next weeks/months. personally I think the strongest we can play is

Richards toure onouha bridge

It will be horses for courses. When we go away to Stoke, Bolton, Birmingham (and similar places like that), i'd play Richards and Lescott as full backs, with Toure and Onuoha in the middle. This gives us maximum height and power to deal with the physical and aerial onslaught from both open play and from set-pieces.

In home games against really poor opposition that park the bus, i'd go with Zab and Sylvinho as full backs as they are in my opinion, better than Richards and Bridge at going forward. Zab and Sylvinho's width and constant bombing runs will make all the difference when overcoming these negative teams. Then, i'd have Lescott and Toure in the middle.

In all other games (the non-physical away games and the home games where teams actually try to attack us), i'd go for Bridge at left back, as he is more all-round than Sylvinho and Lescott as a full-back. As for right-back, i'd be ever so slightly inclined to go for Richards because we are a fairly small team and his height (or more specifically, his leap) will be important. But it really is a close call between him and Zab. Again, i'd go for Lescott and Toure in the middle for these games.

Of course, if someone is massively out of form, the above would have to be reconsidered. But right now, this is how i'd go. It really does depend on the opposition and the expected style of the game that's to be played.

id reli reli like to see

Richards Toure Lescott Sylvinho at home.. Sylvinho is awesome going forward

Zabaleta Toure Lescott Bridge away from home. more solid.

I like what your saying and it sounds like a good plan but will Hughes be willing to switch the back four around that much when we are trying to bed new palyers in? If we had a more settled squad where most of the defenders were comfortable playing with eachother it would work a treat

Richards - Toure - Lescott - Bridge
- - - - - - - Kompany - - - - - - - -

Zabaleta - Dunne - Onuoha - Sylvinho
- - - - - - - - De Jong - - - - - - - - -

I would prefer the first line, but the second is still class.
What a luxury... (+ Garrido,TBH)

With these 5 world class players in front of them, it's Champions League next year :D

Ireland - Barry
Tevez - Adebayor - Robinho
