IMO, Onuoha's a much better CB than he is a Right Back

Agreed but with our current line up I''d rather have ned at RB than on the bench.

Fair, but tbh i'd just rather have Zaba at RB, then Toure, Lescott, Bridge/Silvinho

I'm not convinced there's a real right back at the club.

Richards and Onouha are most definitely not right backs for me and are centre halves only. Very good ones, with great potential.

Can't say I'm 100% convinced by Zab either. More than willing to give him time and a run there to see what he can do in his second season, but I saw him skinned by too many players last year, especially those with a bit of pace, to be anything other than 'on the fence' regarding whether he is a right back that would get near any of the top teams.

Lescott will be hideously overworked if he plays with Toure, the amount of times he'll have to bail him out will be sickening.

Can't agree with that. Toure reads the game better than any defender we have had for years

Lmao Jesus Christ, the bloke's a liability, constantly watching balls fly over his head, always miles out of position and always relying on his other CB to bail him out, and when that's Dunne it's bad news 'cos he's exactly the same.

Yet we haven't conceded with these two, he played in a top 4 team for the past 5 years and is still only 28/29. Ok his bout of Malaria might have affected him a toucch but he is the best defender at the club by a good distance

We've not conceded because Blackburn and Wolves have been terrible, we could easily have conceded against Blackburn if they had luck go their way a little and Shay wasn't so incredible, and Wolves hit the bar and pushed us in the last 15 mins. These are teams that will be in the bottom half and struggling to score all season, so it's a good job that Lescott is coming in just before the games start getting tougher.

Not just the defence at fault though is it - team job and maybe we would have conceded if it was someone instead of Toure playing - impossible to judge.

We arent going to have our own way in every game whether it is someone who you expect to be relegation meaterial or not. Birmingham pushed the rags at the swamp, wigan went to villa and won etc. There are no easy games and to have clean sheets is a credit to the team

Richards
Toure
Lescott
Bridge

As much as I like Zab, I think Richard's height at defending set pieces is his advantage, especially away from home.

What about...

Richards
Toure
Kompany
Lescott

In league games
and for the cup games....

Zab
Ned
Dunne
Bridge

Two strong back 4's that should be able to take us places
