Your thoughts on Alex Ferguson as a manager

Scraped it on goal difference last season and hardly looking spectacular this season. Embarrassing.

Embarrassing? Here's how we view it: Our first league title of the Premier League era was more memorable than any league win in English history. More memorable than any of United's "19". It will always be remembered more than ANY season finale. It was drama at it's finest. Winning the league by 10pts (which would have broken Mourinho's points record by 4pts) would have been nice and dandy but we're Manchester City and our club is a rollercoaster ride for better or for worse and NOTHING will ever top this and the subsequent outpouring of emotion.

Alright blue, what a ridiculous post.

Obviously your first (and only) win of the PL era is going to be more memorable to you. I would imagine Blackburns win is more memorable to their fans than yours last season.

Any teams fans are going to view their own wins as the most memorable you clown.

The rest I.e. Villa, Newcastle etc, well, I imagine they couldn't give a shit.

Winning a League title in whatever way, is not embarrassing. Here's a list of things that are embarrassing though:

1. Losing 6-1 at home to your nearest rivals
2. Blowing an 8 point lead, with 6 games to go.
3. Having T-shirts printed in April, celebrating a League success when there were still games to be played, and it wasn't decided yet.
4. Losing to your title rivals (again) in a crucial match, where a victory can all but give you the title, and not registering one shot on target, or mustering up any meaningful attack.
5. Going 4-2 up at home but not winning, against a team with nothing to play for, and was on a downer after losing an FA Cup semi, to their most hated rivals.
6. Having one hand on the title for 15 seconds, breaking into celebration, then having it snatched away, while getting taunted by the opposition fans.

Oh, and last, but not least, this:
7.

Embarrssing! Do you know what i fucking love my team! It did come down to the last kick of the game but so what we won the league!!! It dosen't matter how you win i bet fergie never gave a shit, media and idiots are always gonna tarnish our trophy but hey, its in our display and where it should be. I bet everyone of our players and staff inc mancini glance at it and think wow what an achievement and all that emotion of the last day puts a smile on there faces coz it would mine. We are not going away and thats another 2 fingers up at fergie coz we are one difficult pill to swallow fo them and i love it!!!!!!!

I was talking about in general, you bitter rag. What is a Wolves fan going to remember? "AGUEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" or, uh... however Blackburn won the league. It will be played on highlight reels for years just like Solskjaer's Champions League goal which is one of the most memorable CL finals too. This quote sums it up the best and it has been rumoured that Hollywood directors want to make a film out of it: "(Quentin) Tarantino could not have scripted it any better."

The 6-1 is something that may be remembered only by City and United fans in 20 years. The finale to our league win will be remembered by everyone in 20 years.

The rest I.e. Villa, Newcastle etc, well, I imagine they couldn't give a shit.

Oh, someone needs to bust out the videos of fans cheering our win up and down the country to give this deluded rag troll a reality check of how fans view his team.

You can try to devalue our title win all you like. Yes we won it in the last seconds on goal difference but for United to collect 89 points from 36 games (I don't include the derbies) is staggering and a testament to the never-say-die attitude that Ferguson has instilled over the years. Hats off to you lot for that. However, we beat you. You were that good over the season yet we won the league mainly due to beating such a good team 7-1 on aggregate over two games. At the time of both games, both sides of Manchester and the rest of the country knew how big they were. We both had a couple of players missing but we won them.

As for the claim that only City fans will remember the title win, absolute bullshit. Ask the Everton, Liverpool, Spurs, Sunderland, Hull City, QPR and others fans who have told me how it was THE most dramatic end to a season they can recall. It wasn't for me, and I've argued on here about this. I believe Arsenal in '89 was even more dramatic. Am I allowed to say that because it didn't involve my team?

One last thing, you can whine about Sheik Mansour all you like and call him a sugar daddy but you'd take him as your owner in a heartbeat. I remember vividly the Stretford End cheering a "Sugar Daddy" onto your pitch. We're just lucky that we got the best one. I don't remember him getting dressed up like a player and doing kick ups at the South Stand though. Do you also get on your moral high-horse about Fulham and Wigan when you talk to their fans? Their two respective owners have brought their clubs far further than ours but nothing ever gets said about how unfair it is. Is that just because they don't take trophies off you?

Funny the moment they hit 'top spot', they appear from under their bridges, only one thing to say,

"WHY ALWAYS WE 20"

Think on sunshine, now fuck off ;-)

There's thread on Ragcafe opened yesterday with title: "Treble, 2012/13"

Here it is:

What do I think about Ferguson? Not much. He's a hell of a football manager undeniably keeping United flying high with such a poor team and with all that debt. He also did brilliantly north of the border by breaking the 'Old Firm' monopoly. He's a **** of a man though and many United fans are seeing him as part of the Glazer problem, with his supporting comments about them as great owners.

we know all that but to be fair the question was what do you think of him as a manager, that he's the best ever can not be in doubt.
