Newcastle away in 1968. The first time I saw them win the league. You never forget your first time. ;-)

That was the open end, where Franny is celebrating the fourth goal, now the Gallowgate end. I was in the Leazes end, which is now where the away fans are placed. There were thousands of us in there too. Then, it was their version of, say, the Kippax. Oh, and also on the pitch after the final whistle!

The 10-1 v Huddersfield November 1987

36 years on and no team in the top 4 Leagues have scored 10 since and 3 hatricks in one game will probably never be equalled.
I think Big Earl might equal it himself in 1 game soon - just needs a full 90 minutes against a bum team.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Wembley?

after posting earlier in the neverton pre-match thread about the 1981 f.a. cup game there.

i got to thinking on, and you know, for me,
the scenes after power scored that second equaliser makes it my favourite memory ever.

what is the one single game that you will take to your grave with you as your favourite, and why?

State of that pitch!

1970 ECWC semi-final at home to Schalke 04. I was eleven, sat at the back of the Platt Lane with my mates and the place was rocking. A thumping 5-1 victory, Nelly Young got a couple and a John Stones like clearance off the goal line from Tommy Booth that, for some reason, has stayed in my memory for 50 years plus.
