Your Worst City Manager Since You Became A Blue ?

Alan Ball, sold off all my favourite players when I was a kid and the rest as we know is history!

Bloody hell you should have been around when Big Mal tore apart the great City team in the late 70's and replaced them with kids just to prove a point, now that was depressing :(

Alan Ball. Which other Premier League Manager could come close to signing shat like Gerry Creaney, Micheal Frontzeck, Martin Phillips, Nigel Clough and Mikhail Kavelashvilli in the SAME season. Franny Lee has a hell of a lot to answer for.

100% agree with this - Fat Franny was a tw@t for bringing his old mate in

Frank Clark way ahead of Alan Ball. Ged Brannan, Lee Bradbury etc.

I sympathise with Ball as he was appointed quite late in the piece, and as I understand it was more or less forced to see Flitcroft, Quinn. We signed Immel, Symons and Kinky all three days before the first game of the season against Spurs. Had Ball been appointed earlier then perhaps we may not have even been in contention for relegation, given we went 12 games before we won a game.

But for Clark to waste 3 mill on Bradbury is madness, total madness. And for Francis Lee to sanction it even worse!

Malcolm Allison ended an era. He was undoubtedly the worst thing that happened to Manchester City the second time around. I have never seen a manager have a bigger negative impact with any team, never mind about City. It has taken us thirty years to get somewhere close to what we were when he took over. He dismantled a magnificent team, spent all our money and left us with three decades of misery.
Alan Ball, Coppell, Reid were shite, but few can compare to Malcolm Allison.

Yeah definitely Alan Ball for me too... If you posted this thread on a forum for any other team he managed you'd get the same answer.

If you don't say Alan Ball you're either a glory hunter or very young.

Frank Clarke and I can honestly say after 41 years of glory hunting I'm still left with 1976 I do wish I was the other option though.
