Your worst ever City game witnessed?

Anyone remember being at Selhurst Park when Charlton played there 86ish Christmas. Under Jimmy Frizzel, absolutely dicked 5-0.

It was Charltons first goal when for ages. They hadnt scored for the previous 6 games since we beat em at Maine Road 2-1 about 2 months before.

In the programme previous Jimmy Frizzel wrote about the importance of the players thanking the fans especially away from home.

We didnt appreciate them applauding us that day!!

Any defeat in the third tier was pretty depressing, not least Wycombe Wanderers doing the double over us (both 1-nils I think?).
I'm over it now though, happy days!!
Don't jinx us!

-- Sun Nov 13, 2011 10:53 am --

Or maybe even the 4-3 and 3-1 losses at the swamp and the 1-0 at ours, also when spuds beat us 1-0 at ours. They were painful

Suprised its not had a mention yet but for me its the 0-5 at the swamp. Worst derby display I have ever seen. That was the last derby my dad lived to see, so it always hurt. The 0-5 eraised the 5-1 in the rags eyes, thats why I cheered as loud for the 6th goal as I did for the 1st.

Halifax and Luton come very very close though.

Yep. I was going to post this as the worst I can recall. I don't remember us having a shot on goal that day!! Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh...those were the days.

Any trip to Middlesboro is pretty depressing at the best of times but during the 90's going there to watch City only compounded the feeling. Had a few bad days there certainly.

Too many bad days to recall just one, but I would cite that season under Pearce as the most miserable and difficult time to get motivated. At least in the 3rd division we had a laugh at ourselves, had a good drink and stuck two fingers up to all the pisstakers.

1 that comes to mind over the last few years is the fa cup game at blackburn, lost 2-0 i think. shocking, bad day all round

For me has to be the City vs QPR game at Maine Road with THAT Pollock own goal. Up to that point I'd convinced myself we would stay up, and knew it was then out of our hands, absolutely pissed it down too walking back to the car!!

Middlesborough at home under Pearce, around March time sticks out as well. My eldest son's first game, left a Christening early to get there, in a suit because I forgot my coat. Feckinn freezing and think we lost 1-0.

That season under Pearce was the closest I've come to losing interest in City, and I seriously questioned whether my lads would stick with City over the coming years...... seems like a lifetime ago :-D

Remember the rain after the QPR game well! Had parked the car at my mums house in Hulme and as the game ended it started to rain. And rain and rain. Remember thinking God was crying!

Got to mention on 606 that night. Two QPR fans rang up as they were safe from relegation because of the draw at Maine Road. They both said that the atmosphere at Maine Road had been great and they wished we might stay up because we were top fans.

Always remember that and have had a soft spot for QPR ever since. Hope they stay up this year.
