Your worst ever City memory.

Owen scoring in fergie time still annoys me to this day, I was in the kitchen thinking we'd grabbed a point and then I seen my brother and my mum start shouting, looked at the tele and seen that rag twat running off with the clock past 97!! cried my eyes out...

seconded mate, it still feels like shit in the pit of my stomach, i,ll hate atkinson till the day i die, the next day i nearlly got barred from the local sauna for threatening this red tw-t who kept asking me my opinion i kept saying don,t want to talk about it, so the 3rd time he asked me i totally flipped on him, he was gone out of the sweat room like a rat up a drainpipe,i daren,t go back i,ll smash him to peices, told him if i see him in the street he had better be up for it, so i,ve not been since? it felt has bad has luton at maine road with pleat skipping across our hallowed turf and the 81 cup final thats how bad that was?

I've not read all the pages on this thread but my worst must be the 1-0 defeat at Halifax closely followed by the 1-0 defeat in the snow at Shrewsbury, both in the mid-1970's when we had a pretty good squad.

Luton and Pleat with that cheap ass suit and shoes,
Birmingham when Adebola scored in the last minute ( just knew the writing was on the wall),
Being in the MRI club with my old mate at the 5-0 against the rags, City at one end ( Me and Tommy) and about 20 rags at the other, us two just looked at each other and smiled, knowingly.

To be honest there is one winner by an absolute mile and that is the 3 minutes between the 86th and 89th minutes of the play off final at 1999. Tears in eyes, head in hands, rooted to the spot devastated, our trip to Wembley a nightmare, our future as a club in real jeopardy,

The first goal was horrible but Robert Taylor extinguished that hope, the period from 90-94 mins was bad but there was I suppose vague hope which is why those 4 minutes were the worst of my City supporting life.

On the other hand this low brought the greatest high I will ever have in my city supporting life

Has to be the relegation to the third tier against Stoke, horrible day.
Being two nil down at Wembley is a very close second, in fact everything the previous posters have mentioned has been painfull to say the very least.
Puts it all in perpective really, fook the weather I'd walk through broken glass to be there tonight.

The 74 League Cup Final defeat to Wolves
The 2-0 defeat to Shrewsbury in the FA cup on an icy pitch
Colin Bell's injury
The FA cup defeat at Halifax
Relegation to the Third Division
Barry fuckin Silkman

Forgot to add Luton when I saw us relegated for the first time

Definitely the Tottenham FA Cup defeat in 93'. Relegation at Stoke doesn't even come close to it, infact I found that 'funny' that day. Funny because it was on the cards and confirmed how much shite the club was in. Relegation against Liverpool was tough as for me that was the first taste of relegation I had tasted as a die hard fan. That cup game though, fuck me that was hard to take as like many on here, I was convinced we were going to win that tie, as well as the cup itself.

i've been to the 8-1 and the cup losses at chesterfield and oldham but the final whistle at ewood park when we lost 2-0 in the cup under pearce is my worst memory

the atmosphere was something i'd never like to experience again

such hatred to the manager and some of the players, was a terrible feeling

Agree with the Blackburn match - Was there and still feel embarrased for the song we sang to the team - But i was pi$$ed, fed up, thinking why should i bother when they can't be.

-- Wed Dec 01, 2010 8:18 am --
