Your XI vs. Crystal Palace

Re: City v Palace - Official Match Thread

Going off MH's comments on the OS, looks like he wants to give Sylvinho a run out if his clearance gets here in time. Assuming Lescott signs in time, I can see this line-up:

--------------------Taylor--------------------
Zabaleta-----Onuoha-----Lescott-----Sylvinho
Weiss--------Ireland------de Jong------Petrov
--------------Tevez-------Bellamy------------

Pretty strong line-up that. Its fantastic that we have enough quality in the squad that we can put out a 2nd string as strong as that, whilst resting players such as Given, Toure, Bridge, Richards, SWP, Barry, Robbie and Ade so they're fresh for the weekend!

Re: City v Palace - Official Match Thread

Just got tickets - and we're right on the half way line. Is this where all away fans go at Palace? Bizarre.

Re: City v Palace - Official Match Thread

I don't understand you guys! ofcourse Lescott and Toure have to play together us much as possible o gel! hence no one put them in the starting eleven.

Re: City v Palace - Official Match Thread

Taylor
Zab
Ned
Dunne
Bridge
NDJ
Petrov
Weiss
Barry
Bellamy
Tevez

dont think he'll change the back four too much. Lescott probably wont be registered in time or have trained witht he guys & Sylvinho not properly match fit yet.
Hope to see McGivern, Trippier get a run out in the 2nd half when we're 3-0 up!!
Went to Brighton last year, so cant happen again...can it?

Apologies if this has already been posted or is in the wrong forum but I was just thinking about who should play against Palace in mid week.

I really want us to have a good go at both domestic cups this year and I hope that MH is planning on playing a strong team in this match. It's absolutely vital that we avoid another cup upset ala Brighton, Doncaster, Chesterfield etc. because the press will have a field day.

So, here's my team (assuming Lescott still hasn't signed):

Given

Bridge
Toure
Onuoha
Zabaleta

Petrov
Barry
De Jong
SWP

Tevez
Bellamy

Subs: (are you allowed 7 in the Carling Cup?)

Taylor
Garrido
Richards
Ireland
Weiss
Adebayor
Robinho

Thoughts?

close but I reckon Weiss will start and SWP not

Maybe Silvinho instead of Bridge?

Re: City v Palace - Official Match Thread

This is a cup we can win.

Hope to God that Hughes has learnt the necessary lessons from the cup disasters of last season.

Full team please MH.
