Youtube Sucks

Firefox or the Brave browser?
I’m reading up on Brave at the moment because the level of ads now has now made watching anything a largely unbearable experience.

Anyone else using Brave? Any drawbacks to it? Any advice appreciated. Apparently it has additional crypto reward features but I assume I can disable/ignore those if I want. I’d probably use other browsers most of the time, but as far as YouTube is concerned, something’s gotta give.
Been using brave for YouTube only for ages
Totally ad free yer can’t go wrong

Twas about to fuck the whole YouTube thang right off last year, then Brave came to the rescue n plain sailing ever since...

For peace of mind, get it done!

If you get rid of your TV licence then Youtube will only cost you £1.55 a month. To be fair It's a great platform and a bonus to no ads is you get to download content for later when there is no available internet. Also you get the music etc.

On another Youtube thread someone advised getting the family plan for £19.99 for up to 6 members, but I haven't investigated this avenue and wonder if multi family membership would be affected geographically?

When you consider the increasing advertising content then £12.99 monthly ain't all that bad because adverts can really make a man tremble. Why put yourself through this ordeal for only 42p a day?

If I catch any content creators trying it on with adverts then I immediatly unsubscribe from their channel and inform them I have done so and why. The woman off Benidorm and Beyond has started doing it. She was chirping away about how long she had lived in Beni and went on to say how her life has be changed for the better. But that only because she's learned to speak the language which wouldn't have been possible without " insert language course"

Kurt Caz is doing it regularly so I binned his subcribe and bell ring too. He'd been out tubing in Rotterdam and then got back to his hotel room and started chirping about how city centres clog up and take the moisture and goodness out of his skin. Cue a 5 minute rant on xxxxx skin care and how he can now exfoliate and moisturise his parts on the go.

Not acceptable when were paying for ad free. If only I could get Brave Browser onto our TV screen.

If you’re watching on your phone, you can WhatsApp the link to the YouTube video to yourself in a message then just click the play button (rather than the link) and full screen it so you can watch it without adverts.

Noticed more interruptions using Edge Browser with Ad Block Plus. Had to fiddle with the settings and its working AD free at he moment. Just tried Brave and it's not working. "Experiencing interruptions, find out why"

EDIT- both working now, no ADs.

Youtube really has gone shit. Too many videos about the same thing. And too many videos that are completely wrong and made up. Even worse is the mount of ads, especially before the video and during it. It used to be one add before the video, then it went to two adds, now it’s three adds, and two adds during the video.

Any recommendations for Youtube ad blockers on an iPad? Thanks.

I severely dislike the algorithm. The problem you have is you watch one video and might want to change the subject. Like I went through a couple of videos on Jack the Ripper, as a keen history buff. I was done with the topic there after two documentaries, but for several days after that’s all I could see, more Jack the Ripper videos.

I get the algorithm giving you what it thinks you might like but it’s too strong.

Is their an option to turn the algorithm off?

I subscribe to it, its better than TV in lots of ways. But, watching reviews are a waste of time, they're all paid for. And AI created bollocks is doing my head in, so much of it is fake which ruins watching anything. YT really need to curb that crap, it'll be the death of the platform.
