I reckon there will be some kind of friendly thrown in as part of the deal. Zaba playing a half each for either side then the move falling through because he's clattered 4/5 of his Roma teammates.Please please please let us play Roma at the Etihad soon. Best of luck Zaba! Club legend

Well this could be the worst thing to happen in what has been the worst week in recent memory. Zabba should not be allowed to leave.
We could get them in the Champions League Qualifier, but to be honest I'd much rather avoid them.

He may he happy where he is, he has had a very easy 2 years going through the motions, and he has been allowed to do it by an inept manager.
NO ONE walks away from money and as said he signed a contract and if the club wants to break that contract it will have to pay him and so it should,
Contracts work in the clubs favour to sometimes, in this occasion the player and his agent have us over a barrel, and they will not walk away anytime soon.

Our ex manager never got a grip of him and as you have quite rightly stated he has taken us for an easy ride....but who's fault is that?
Weak management and a weakness at exec level, many players have been having us over in the last two years, including a few of our 'heroes"

Zabaleta has been a fantastic servant for Manchester City, he's helped us win multiple trophies and his commitment and affinity to the club and fans can't be denied. In an ideal world there'd still be a place for him at the club. However that would be letting your heart rule your head, whats as undeniable as his love for the club/fans is the fact that he has deteriorated as a footballer over the last 18 months or so. He'll be 32 just after the New Year and age has started to catch up with him. He lost his place last season to Sagna, who is actually 2 years older than him, and given Guardiola's requirement that his fullbacks get up and down the wings, we can't really go into the season with 2 30+ options at right back. It's probably the right time for Zabaleta to move on, the slower pace of Italian football will suit him far better than the pacey, end to end football you get in the Premier League at this stage of his career. His time here will be remembered fondly by City fans but everyone eventually reaches the point where they need to be replaced, and with Zabaleta that time has unfortunately come.

Zab's performance last season was directly related to the serious injury he suffered at the start of the season. At 31 he is 2 years younger than Sagna. Just because he looks in his 40's, with his early hair loss, doesn't mean he's going to suddenly seize up! When Zab and Sagna have both been fit Zab has consistently kept Sagna out of the team. Dress it up however you want mate but Yaya has acted the **** for the past two or three summers and I wish he'd fuck off now.
Zaba is in the same position, 1 year remaining on his contract and like you are banging on about he is within his rights to sit it out.
There's the difference between the two players in my opinion. Yaya is a greedy twat and Zaba isn't. He wants to play football and there's no way he'll be earning the same at Roma as he is here.
