Zabaleta or Sagna?

I love zabba to bits and he has been great for us. But he is looking a tired 30 / 31 at times. He has been up and down that wing for years and been in many battles. Young wingers, bigger in height and faster are starting to trouble him. Would like to see another younger right back signed and share games with zabba for a season or two until eventually replacing him.

Back to nearly his best yesterday with some fine overlapping displays and some fine first time ball passes.I`d have him anyday of the week over Sagna.

+1^...Iwould'nt dream of interjecting a world cup weary Sagna for a fresh Zab...not many taller wingers roasting him pre the last WC..much finer passer of a football....passing sequences seldom break down when he's high up the pitch and i doubt Sagna's got the nouse to scream out and fist pump the air akin to Zab putting Ashley young right in that Monday derby...lets see what the 10 day break did for him

Unbelievable thread. Then I looked at the date.. fans are so fickle sometimes :|

Kompany over Demichelis all the time. Zaba definately over Sagna every time.

Zaba plays his heart out week in week out... Sagna looks lost when is on the pitch, never sure of himself..

Sagna should play v Barca IMO, offers us more defensive protection and has been excellent against Ribery and Hazard this season.

I have been saying this too. Sagna may offer much less offensively but he managed both of these better than Zabba did and he'll be fresh. However, i suppose Barca don't pick defenders for their solidity but as auxillory attackers.

Sorry to all Zaba fans (of which I am one), but he is struggling this season, and against oppostion like Barca, everyone has to be on their game, sadly, Zaba isn't.

Forget sentiment, it's imperative we are rock solid at the back and that for me, means Sagna starts. We don't need Zaba busting a gut to make overlaps and then struggle to get back. We have goals in us elsewhere.

He makes overlaps at his managers request. He will make defending his priority against Barca, also at his managers request.Straight forward enough for you ??

Sorry. If we want the best defender on the night, against that particular team, then it is not Zaba. I,m sorry you don,t agree, but he is struggling for form, and would be a risk to play him.

Doesn,t matter what you or I think though, Pellers will decide.
