Every team will have injury issues. We were lucky during our title winning season, but we now have a better squad. We've done well without the catastrophic losses of Vinny, Silva and Aguero as well as somewhat surviving without Yaya during African Cup.
It's not ideal but we need to knuckle down and get on with it. There may even be a silver lining?

This is something I've been saying for a while to be honest, I have a lot of hamstring problems myself when I play going back to one horrific tear when I was a teenager and the sports science dep in uni actually went as far (on top of nutrition, specialised warm ups, focused training on strengthening the healthy tissue left in the muscle) as to regulate my running style when I was playing, by not letting me jog slowly (the tear was right above the knee and heavy impacts weren't doing it any good) and forbidding me to sprint full on. slowed me down, but I wasn't going off 30 mins into every match with strains and minor tears. now if a small university can do that, surely the club can do something.

-- Thu Dec 19, 2013 10:56 am --

mancity1 said:BlueSiam said:F*** me there is some negative stuff on this thread. Its all about the club doing what it can to minimise these injuries BS.
No side can afford to have its best players off the scene for too long and expect to play to their potential.
It hurt our campaign last season and will do so again this season.
I don't think luck comes into it as much as you may think.
Good sports science and being at the cutting edge of risk management is what it is all about when it comes to injuries and how you recover from them.
Its well known at least in AFL circles that those clubs with the best doctors and best preventative measures in place and instructing players especially those who are more soft tissue injury prone as to how better manage your body on match day and during the match and after the match etc.
There are too many soft tissue injuries at this club this season to dismiss it as just bad luck as opposed to good luck when they don't occur.
