Just because almost everyone who is fighting for their have kids or a Mrs.
And?
They also happen to be in Ukraine. You could pick countless differentiations to play devil's advocate about.
That's often the issue with this detatched 3rd party commentator stance we as a society have accepted.
The guy, or any one guy, is offering his emotional view at a very emotional time. It varies from person to person, it is his own.
For a start, there is no right view. Nor does anyone need to pander to someone else's (most of the time unnaffected themselves) romantic/bravado notions that everyone has to go and fight.
I believe him, in this mess, he probably had an immediate thought that he wanted to go back and fight. He possibly tortured himself and his family it, and on calming it saw otherwise. Saying that in quite a personal interview, doesn't give anyone the right to turn that into an excersise of making excuses to analyse. He hasn't been called back, he hasn't run away to avoid it. He is simply telling you what went through his head. At a crazy time like this, hardly something to focus on.
There is also that question of what would it achieve. A civilian with an audience and reasonable wealth can do much more being alive and active for his country in other ways, than simply going into battle and getting killed pretty quickly, which is the most likely scenario btw.
Ultimately those comments on what he said had zero depth applied to them. They were looking for something to lash out about to satisfy heir own fucking tribalism, and found an easy one to pound their chests over. Hence, they are scum.
