Top player for sure, just not sure about his age and style would fit your team. It all depends on if there would be some kind of swap with Tevez or Balo. I'd never pay only cash for him, would probably be too expensive. Not to mention his salery. One thing is certain though, Ibra > Balo > Dzeko.
The style of play is what make this transfer so good if true,

We dont play with pace or counter attacking football down the flanks.

We play possesion based centralized football, where intelligens and tecgnical skills are more important than pace, cross and counter.

the way we play the ball around outside the goal area, with two player in the middle, would be perfect for Zlatan, to have him in the center

we dont need a fast paced striker, we got Aguero and Balotelli for that. and maybe Hazard.

we need players who can play the Silva,Nasri,Tevez role in the center of the pitch. And there is no better striker than Zlatan and Rooney for that.

-- Mon May 14, 2012 4:41 pm --

It would be amazing. He' s a top five player and even at 30 he would still give us 3-4 years of great football.
THIS!!

Funny how underrated he is on here... one of the top 10 players for me. Has carried Milan this season, scoring 35 goals and 14 assist.

and to say that Balotelli is better than him is way OTT
OTT? In what sense? I agree he's a world-class striker, when he feels the need to be, that is..

1) Both of them are hot tempered and we can expect at least 1 red card a season from both. We have our hands full with just one of them. Just imagine if there were two.

2) Ibra is 30, Balotelli is 21. At 21, Ibra scored 21 goals in 42 appearances for Ajax (2002-03). Compare this to Balo's 17 in 31 for us this season. So if he keeps his head on right, Balo has the potential to give us plenty of goals for years to come. Ibra is at the twilight of his career and may or may not continue his current form of 35 in 41 with City. FFPR wise, is the investment worthwhile? No. Is the swap worthwhile for Milan? Yes.

3) I'll admit I don't follow all of Ibra's games to give an informed response, but the games I have watched, he was distinctly ordinary, especially if his support is cut off. Now Balotelli, I've watched every game with City. And I see that he can be a excellent winger/support striker if the need arises. Just watch how he changed the game in the few minutes he was on Vs QPR..

4) Ibra will cost at least 30-35mil as per his current market value. Not worth it. Same with RVP..

5) Btw, why consider swapping with Tevez, when you know that Tevez can similarly give us a minimum of 20-25 goals a season? If you say this because Tevez fucked off to Argentina, I can guarantee you that Ibra would have done something similar if he had been stuck in the reserves by Mancini..Both these guys are too proud for their own good..

What Balotelli is missing is experience and maturity (which Ibra doesn't have anyway), If he gains that he will definitely be much better than Ibra..
This is my opinion and you're entitled to yours..

PS: According to the article, "It will be the gift of Sheikh Mansour to Roberto Mancini." If this is indeed the "gift" that Danamy was talking about in the 'It's quiet' thread, it may very well be that he will come to us, as we all know Mancini has his own preferences..

You have some good points and some bad.

First and formost, Tevez will probably leave, because HE wants too, so a swap deal with Zlatan would make sense.

Zlatan is not that hot tempered anymore, he havent been for years. cant see what this myth are still alive.

Zlatan has BEEN Milan for two years, he has been so important to them that they value him as one of the most important players ever played in the milan shirt, the same in Inter.

Yes he is 30, but you could still get 3 -4 good years out of him.

You may think he is ordinary, but you dont get that kind of reputation by being ordinary.

Everything in attack goes throw him he is the playmaker the goalscorer, the leader the central of gravity in pretty much all teams he has played in except Barcelona.

He is the most complete player i ever seen, and the winner mentality Zlatan shows cant even Rooney or RVP keep up with.

Would he really be able to play with Sergio though? Would Sergio have to play the Tevez role if Ibra came? Do we really want to "demote" a 30 goals scorer to second strinker, because I dont see how Ibra would come here and play anything but up top

Yes he will play in Tevez role, He will play more like a playmaker where sergio or balo lead the attack up front.

He will take the center between the defenders when we attack.

Not hot-tempered any more? Check his stats - He has 3 red-card suspensions and 2 yellow-card suspensions during his two years in Milan..
Yes, you may get about 2 good years out of him, but then you can get a minimum of 5 years from Tevez and 12 years from Balotelli (if we keep him that long)..if you're considering a swap scenario..
About Tevez leaving, right now he says he wants to stay. Don't know if that is a negotiating tactic or not, but that is his current position..
If we are going to get Hazard, we would then have Hazard, Silva and Nasri as playmakers. How many more playmakers do we need?

Like I said, Ibra is world-class, but I don't prefer him, but my opinion doesn't matter if Mancini covets him..

Would improve us but don't think we would get enough value. He would surely demand high wages and cost around 25m. If we could get him for 15m or so then it's a no brainer imo.

I think he would fit our system perfectly. A bit like Dzeko but more technical and so can play better with Aguero/Nasri/Silva. Also makes things happen out of nowhere. He has proven himself everywhere he has played.

It would be swap deal, not a purchase that im pretty sure about.

how many playmakers we need? we have 3 spots that needs to be rotated, Silva,Nasri and Teves. if tevez leaves for Ibra and we buy Hazard we would have rour players for 3 spots.
