£10 to park on North Car Park

The coach wasn't financially viable - until now, so yes, I might.

And the point other people have made is that whilst not having a blue badge (and what happens about those genuine blue badge holders>) plenty of people can't manage a 15 minute walk. That mean's they're pretty much forced to pay £10, which then means it IS extortionate.

It's pretty shocking really. For me it costs about a tenner in fuel to get there, and to add another tenner just to stand there for a few hours takes the biscuit. There is a coach that goes from my neck of the woods so I might consider that in future. At £50 per ticket, it makes it a dear do now.

Get out ya car and get the coach then. It makes sense so why dont you do it.
Ive payed £50 and will be getting a taxi there and walking back to burnage. Needs must.

Is there anywhere else, apart from other footy clubs, where a tenner is the standard parking charge at sports venues. For a couple of hours parking it matches my notion of extortion.

Dont pay it then. You cant be extorted if you dont pay it ffs.

A tenner is expensive and like someone said earlier a 100% increase on last year. Let's hope for the extra fiver the club will employ people to control cars exiting from the car park after games cos it's normally a complete shambles of a free for all. You can park up in town and get the bus back and drive home before you get off that hell hole of a car park.

Hundreds of places to park if people would use their legs for 20mins before and after.
I agree with you - for fit and young people it's not an issue.

But City have a lot of older fans - my mates dad is in his 70's and can't walk that far.

I don't think £10 is typical across the Premiership. I usually pay to park at away grounds and it's usually a fiver or thereabouts. Ok the swamp and London clubs are £10 but loads of others are not.

With the East car park being closed and the North car park price going up it feels like it's going to be like the 1st season all over again with people working out other places to park and best getaways etc. Glad I've got my season ticket for the school sorted because last year it was often full by an hour before kick off.

Assuming that you are able bodied then this one's easy. If you don't like it don't frigging park there. Plenty of cheaper parking about.

Sorry if this has already been covered, searched but couldn't see it.

Just read that City will be charging £10 per match to park on the North Car Park. I used to park there ever game until couple of seasons ago when I got fed up of the wait to get off.

Steep rise to £10 makes me think they are happy to deter people from parking there. Maybe make it easier then to use it to build on. Or maybe making it easier for the hospitality mob to get on and off.

Trouble is it gives the other car parks licence to up their prices.
I don't mind City charging a tenner for parking as they'll always be a few lazy people who will park right near the stadium and will be willing to pay £10 and others who have deeper pockets won't mind, all of this goes directly to the club from the people who can afford or don't mind.

Its the last point that really concerns me too.

First post :) Ive been looking for other car parks too since the price increase. Usually a long walk for £5 car parks but anyone passed on grey mare lane recently? There is a new car park opening soon but not sure how much they going to charge. If its nothing silly then that might just be the ideal car park for me!

Would that be the new school, East Manchester Academy ?
