Easy way to stop it make punishments harsher . Go down holding your face when there's no contact or obvious diving etc etc fine 5% of what you would earn over your career as a footballer , 10 week ban. Second time fine 50% of what you earn as a footballer 4 year ban, 3rd time fine 95% of what you would earn as a footballer , 10 years in prison (to think long and hard about what you've done).

Just another set of excuses for referees to "use their discretion" without being called up on it. So when someone they want to book does something they can book them and the commentators and pundits will nod along saying those are the rules, then when players they don't want to book do the same thing they can turn a blind eye and no one will say a thing. The more discretion the referees have, the more bent the game is

Far too late in the day to change anything, with Managers slagging their own players for not going down under minimal contact and pundits doing the same then the game is too far gone to be saved from the cheats imo

Agree with that. Pundits saying he should have gone down does not help. Soon a defender will not be able to put his leg out in the box as it's the attacker half the time kicking the outstretched leg. Meanwhile on corners......,
