Maine Road FC

The Claremont is not the nearest pub to Maine Road FC by a stretch.
Chorlton is a short walk

You can get off the tram at chorlton and there’s Chortlon Tap directly opposite (cracking craft / real ale bar!) and Morrisons next door for some cans to take to the game. The ground is about 15 mins walk I think, from memory

Miss the old Maine Road when I was a Liverpool fan.. some of my happiest memories of away games were had there..
Short journey.. drink before and after the game in the supporters club.. some great banter in the Kippax with the City fans.. one of the best pies from footie ground you could get at half time and the usual four or five goals we always put past Joe Corrigan..
Area was dodgy tho as were some of the pubs.. always left your car at your peril and always felt like you were going back in time as it was a City that never really moved with the times and the rest of the country.. Good Times tho and a ground with great history..

Do one you scouse twat.

Hearing of all the FOCs, and blues that have packed city in for numerous reason be it financial, VAR, over commercialism and tourists.

Surely this is a no brainer, especially with it being a stones throw from our spiritual home?

Wonder why attendance is so poor.

I've been to a few games and it's really enjoyable

Completely agree that Maine Road F.C. should get better support from City fans and also the Club.
The ground (Brantingham Road) however, is tucked away and not easy to find by car. It's also not the easiest place to get to, by bus.
But, please make the effort to get there - I've always enjoyed the games and had a good time watching the Sky Blues.
It must be difficult for the Club to grow and prosper, so get yourselves down there over the festive period...

Maybe it's just down to a lack of knowledge, maybe if the word gets out, that could attract more blues.

Do MRFC do anything to engage with the locals to try and garner interest?

Most of the locals are Asian. And without wanting to get political, it’s an undeniable fact that historically, very few Asians have any interest in watching live football on a Saturday afternoon.
