Used to play on a surface like that every Sunday only it wasn’t pristinely rolled like Maine Road. The smacking of the mud was so weird to hear in the commentary. Hammers were some team back then. Good to watch !

Same here, after the match I don't think I've ever been as wet before or since, it was a monsoon type downpour. Throw in the result and I was an utterly miserable 15 year old by the time I got home.Watched that one from the old Platt Lane stand.
