On our way to a new period of dominance?

To dominate we need to win the Premier League and Champions League not once or twice but more than that over the next five or so years. The FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League prizes are secondary competitions whether us fans like it or not, you dont dominate by winning those. We need to make sure we dont play in the Europa League for many years and win the big two pots. We will im sure, the rags have had nearly 4 years since Fergie left and theyve not competed for the big prizes once since despite spending big on players nobody else wanted at the prices they were willing to pay. Chelsea are our rivals for the big trophies because they know how to win them, unlike Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Life is good, weve alot to look forward too and we will get better under Pep. TBH, who gives a crap if the opposition scores 3 goals against us as long as we score 5? Forget the press and jealous has-been pundits, we are here to stay and will be competing for the big prizes for years to come, lets hope we win em!

That aint going to happen! The league aint piss easy like when that moaning cheating bent fcuker was at the scum.

No team is going to dominate the premier league like the dippers, gooners or the dark side have in the past and long may it stay that way. That's what makes our league so exciting.

For 6 years we have been the dominant team in English football.

2011 FA Cup
2012 League Title
2013 Runners-up, FA Cup finalists
2014 League winner, League Cup
2015 Runner-up
2016 League Cup, 4th in the League

Man Utd fans were convinced it would never happen. But it did. It was not going to last forever, and this last couple of seasons it has become clear that Mancini's team needed renewing.

Most great teams are one offs. They have their time, and then they are up:

Man City of Bell, Lee and Summerbee,
Man Utd of Best Law and Charlton
Spurs of Bill Nic
Villa winning the European Cup
Wengers Invincibles
Clough's Forest
Ipswich
Even Newcastle had a good team for a while.
The Football League is littered with teams like Wolves, Leeds, Sunderland, Huddersfield who had a brief time in the sun. In some cases more than one.

Liverpool and Man Utd managed to renew their teams and went on and on. They'd replace players at their peak.

We have been in transition though we probably did not realise it. The team Mancini built is being rebuilt and I think we're very close to having a new team that can challenge for honours. We have a fantastic forward line in Sterling, Sane, Aguero and Jesus. And so young. I think they are all going to be superstars. We have Silva and De Bruyne. In defence we have John Stones who will grow and develop. Bravo is derided everywhere but I think he will come good.

It's obvious that the defensive side of our game is not right, but we're possibly just one player away now from another team that is going to dominate for another 5 years, or more.

Do you think so too. Which position is key? For me defensive midfield. Get a Kante, De Jong, Barry in and that would be it. Sure we wouldn't be perfect. but we'd be ready to challenge. We are close as it is: 2nd, in the FA Cup and last 16 in Europe.

Next Summer we wont need to buy Sane, Sterling, Jesus, Stones etc. We just need 1/2 defensive players and that will be it. This is going to happen.
Marvin please stop right there right now.

we've not been close to dominant. Authorities/refs/media decided in 2012 we wouldn't be allowed to be dominant and we've conformed and even made it easy for them (last season).

And our club has done absolutely nothing to stop it happening.

Premier League (2): 2011/12, 2013/14.
FA Cup (1): 2010/11.
League Cup (2): 2013/14, 2015/16.

versus in the same period

La Liga (4): 2010/11, 2012/13, 2014/15, 2015/16.
Champions League(2): 2010/11, 2014/15.
Copa del Rey(3): 2011/12, 2014/15, 2015/16.

Bundesliga(4): 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16.
German Cup(3): 2012/13, 2013/14, 2015/16.
Champions League(1): 2012/13.

Serie A (5): 2011/12, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16.
Coppa Italia(2): 2014/15, 2015/16.

That's dominance, if Pep ended up with any of those records with us (+ a CL in the latter) then it will be a success to say the least, and true dominance, the kind of dominance we should have been achieving since 2012 and have to now, regardless of who we have to dispose of on the way.

People denying us should be made to either come on side, or purged. I cannot fathom how our owner allows this to continue considering his position, contacts and relative influence.

really ? nothing to do with how good other teams are - chelsea this year, or we weren't good enough. you can't blame the media, refs, authorities for us not wining things.
