Having had a quick look on the internet, seems the saudis are pissed off at Qatar talking to the Iranians, while Qatar are saying it is a deliberate smear campaign and bullying against them.

There are worries of food shortages if this continues as the borders are closed on land, sea and air.

Also this seems to be part of a campaign by the UAE to increase their power in the region.

There was major panic buying today for sure. The Ministry of Interior have since been reassuring residents that policies are in place to ensure no shortages of food and water.

There is still air space free for QA flights out and in.

In all honesty, this started as soon as Qatar admitted taking a call from Iran against mothers wishes (Saudi).

The Yank Commander at the huge airbase has stated that they support Qatar and it's efforts in the region last this afternoon though which is calming. There have been reports of Saudi mobilising and using tanks at the border to stop food being transported across the border (which seemed OTT).

The thing these erm people forget though is that by closing the borders they will be putting their own Saudi nationals who usually supply Qatar out of business and they don't care in their high level game of brinkmanship.
