Sergio Aguero - 2016/17 performances

Had I said 2 years ago, just after he'd had an exceptional season for us, that we should sell Yaya, I'd have probably got the same reaction. But I think most of us now accept we should have done just that and cashed in on Yaya when he was at his peak.

Sergio is 28 and we've struggled to keep him fit for a full season. At some point we'll have to replace him and that might have to be sooner rather than later. Getting a premium price is better than getting nothing and if we can use the sale to get two players such as Griezemann, Aubameyang, Lacazette or that Celtic lad Dembele then in my view it's worth doing.

Who would have signed Yaya then? or sorry, I'll rephrase, who would've paid Yaya's wages then?

Grizi offers nothing as a CF..At his best when he has a CF ahead of him..A supporting striker.
Aubameyang's general play is awful.
Their off days can drive a fan mental.
'Replace Aguero with M.Dembele/Lacazette'
Wow.Just Wow.Think i've seen it all.

Stuff like this makes me laugh. You get one person making an absurd suggestion, in this case selling Aguero, then about 20 people jump in with comments about how this is a new all time low for the forum etc, making it look like it's the consensus on here. It's not. It's one person making an absurd suggestion.
Part of the problem is a underactive irony filter with some posters.

I did an analysis of his goals scored for the rags, probably for KOTK or might even have been on here. The vast majority were against teams in the bottom half. Sergio's record has been much more impressive in that respect.
At the end of the day, it is just as important to beat the cannon fodder. But Kun has scored a shit load of goals against the likes of Spuds and the scummy ones, anyway.

Well I can tell you that Pep was desperate to get both Aubameyang (& Bonucci) and we were trying to do those deals up to the last minute of the transfer window. But what does Pep know compared to your Einsteinian level of footballing knowledge. We were also ready to roll with Neymar until he signed a new contract. All that tells me Aguero is seen as disposable.

His goals ratio is phenomenal, but there was a sense during the Bournemouth game that the 2nd and 3rd goals were based on pace and peripheral vision ,and probably wouldn't have been scored with Aguero in the team.
I think that's what Pep was alluding, after the Swansea match.

I agree with a lot of what you've said. However, there are two absolute untouchables in our squad (on here anyway), and Sergio is one (probably with good reason). There were 3 until Kompany had so many recurring injuries, and some are now realising that we can live without him. I don't think we can currently live without Aguero.

On his day Aguero is the best striker in the division. I think Guardiola wants more from him though, as he's already said. It will be interesting to see if Aguero has it in his locker to do that - he doesn't appear to be the kind of player who won't work at it though, but only time will tell. The fact that, Ian aside, he's our only striker is an issue for us as a club (although I believe Guardiola has said his dream would be to have a team full of midfield players).

Yep, and City will pass FFP. You’ve heard it hear first fom the font of all knowledge. Aguero to be replaced by a Celtic player. Next up, KDB fights for his place as Joey Barton makes surprise move back from Scotland. And we can all play the “I know for a fact City were in balls-deep for XYZ” game. Impossible to disprove. Unlike Aguero’s unparalleled ability to put the ball in the back of the net. If you’re going to spout such utter bollocks, save it for King of the Kippax. That way, nobody will ever know.
