I think people are under-estimating the womens game.
The best womens team would wipe the floor with your average sunday league team. As long as it was ref'd fairly.
The womens game appears to have come on massively, but goalkeepers are still a big problem. They're body shape when keeping is all wrong, i'm surprised it isn't something which is coached into them.

where women can compete on equal terms in any sport then 'the gender barrier' will be increasingly challenged
one distant day a woman will come along who is good enough (and tough enough) to be taken seriously in the beautiful game and the walls will come tumbling down
it's inevitable like women refs, commentators, sailors at sea, chief execs, prime ministers etc etc etc
lets face it ''soccer'' is becoming a non-contact sport anyway which will play into their hands
but it's a long long way off thankfully cos I prefer things as they are
