We'll be expecting them to come at use early, and if they do it will leave holes that we can take advantage of. I think the problem we have here is that if they sit back and defend for the first 20 minutes to try and spoil our game plan. They'll be hoping we get frustrated, and end up leave gaps behind for them to exploit.

It is certainly going to be a tough game. and the first goal will be massively important.
They are a free scoring home team so they will try and batter us early doors,we must score first

If they're happy to sit back and defend I'd be more than happy to see the two centre halves spend 90 minutes playing two touch.

Yes. This is one occasion where I'll happily take a boring nil-nil.

If they come at us then we can exploit the inevitable gaps. They are shocking at the back, and Serge and Leroy will tear them apart. If super Kev finds his shooting boots we should be home and dry.

It's going to be manic, valium at the ready

We tried that Yaya-Dinho combination against Stoke and it didn't really work, don't think Yaya has the legs to play further forward anymore. I'd play both but have Yaya in the pivot role and Dinho screening further forward, allowing Silva a bit more freedom to pick out runners.
I thought the biggest problem against Stoke was Silva and Sterling not playing. We created a lot more when Silva came on and Navas is nowhere near Sterling's level.

Yeah that was definitely the bigger problem, but I do think the unsuitability of the roles Dinho and Yaya were given contributed as well. I've gotten grief on here recently for saying this but Dinho isn't in the same league as Yaya when it comes to passing the ball, he can't pick out players between the lines as well. He's also a better ball carrier these days and physically better able to support the high press.

I agree Yaya's probably as good as anyone at not losing the ball but if we need someone to break up their forward play, Dinho or even Fernando would be better for that role.

I doubt think Yaya is any worse at breaking up play when he's not caught forward, he reads the game very well and he's a big unit when he gets in close. Doesn't matter which of the three we use there though they'll be in trouble without support and Dinho is the most likely to get back and provide that before the full backs are forced to drop back from the inverted positions.

I completely agree with that.

Plus, Fernandiho just isn't playing at all well at the moment.

Probably doesn't help when he's being shifted all over the place.

I just think that they'll have to throw everything at us from the whistle and that will create plenty of space
I'm not sure, if you're aiming for a 2-0 you want a steady and controlled result. The more gung ho they are the more likely we are to score and the bigger the task facing them.

Looking at their form this season I'm expecting an all or nothing assault from the outset

Playing Dinho at right back against Monaco would be a huge mistake but he'd be ok in front of the back four imo.

Got a horrible feeling Pep is going to drop Aguero..........If it was me I would bring in Dinho for Sterling or de Bruyne
