i'd take both :)Id agree but bearing in mind Pep saying we need a bit more physicallity to deal with the Costa, Lukaku types think he may go fo Van Dijk over Laporte.

As would i,and sell Otamendi.i'd take both :)
Bonucci is anything but a physical centre half, he's powder puff compared to either VVD or Laporte.I think in that scenario he goes for Bonucci.
All round though, I think another run on Laporte is very possible and he would potentially offer more in Pep's system than any other CB that could come on the market.
Totally agree. Offtop: if we're getting only one CD this summer (I don't think we can afford more), we'll need a backup for Stones anyway, and bearing in mind Vinny's health.. .. I'm afraid we are bound to watch some more headless chicken runs next season. You know what I mean.Bonucci is anything but a physical centre half, he's powder puff compared to either VVD or Laporte.
ok then those two :)Can't imagine we would shell out £100m on two new center backs!! Still think pep will want bonnuci as his first choice and Laporte as his second

You're so optimistic about Otamendi! Take 10m and run.If we manage to sell Otamendi for £30mil, we could see both Laporte and Van Dijk being signed. 3atb with Laporte, VvD and Stones would be brilliant

I reckon Madrid's interest in Aguero and Otamendi as pure journo's BS, they're simply not on required level. And Isco won't leave Spanish capital for a foreign club of a (yet) lower profile, besides his wage demands aren't fitting our wage structure, from what I've managed to read.I'd hope we would try and swap ota for Isco if Madrid still want him
I'd take him over Laporte personally - we need someone proven in the league, had enough mishaps at CB as is. Van Dijk suits our play style & is a bit of a monster, just wish we hadn't waited until he's got a long-term contract at Sot'on to decide we might want him, plenty of opportunities to have got him cheaper.
He is better than Airewereld in my opinion. There is just more to his game than people give him credit for.Second best CB in the league after alderweireld imo
But what makes him a better fit than Laporte? Both left-footed, tough, have basically the same main attributes.
Injuries? Laporte did his ACL, but that was at a very young age (15).
i'd take both :)

Back on topic - reading too many arguments in this thread pointing that VVD can't belong to the list of our main targets.
