It's Quiet - a new dawn

You've seamlessly switched your rant from "the rags at the bbc" to the media. The bbc, as stated, get their gossip column from the gossip in the papers.

Not only the papers, but also any old bullshit featured as"best of social media". How many times are they going to feature news of Schweinsteiger in the States? Doubt he would have got a mention had he not been ex- rag.

Listening to Talkshite in the car this morning, and one of them (ex pro, not sure of his name though) said that he knows for a fact that we've been talking to a right back, and if we do the deal it will be big news and he'll definitely improve us. Anyone got any ideas of who it might be?
Fabinho, Henrichs, Kimmich?

You'd imagine that if your man isn't talking shite it would be a higher profile name than those 3, to be big news.
Yep. The way he was talking I thought it would be a household kind of name.

Taking Kimmich from Bayern would be pretty big, only other one that comes to mind is Bellerin.
Kimmich is still only a squad player there, Bellerin is the one I'm afraid of, hasn't shown any signs of developing since he broke through, can't defend and would cost a fortune in transfer fee and wages, which could negatively influence other purchases.

It'll be Dani Alves

Fabinho and Kimmich would be big news imo, specially Kimmich. Plus there aren't that many A-list RB's available in the market. Barca doesn't have any, Rags play Valencia there, Chelsea play with 3, Liverpool guy doesn't fit the system and is overrated anyways.
Only way I see it being a big news is if we sign one of Walker, Carvajal or Bellerin.

Those 3 and Aurier were the ones I was thinking of, for the money they'd cost Carvajal is the only one whose ability matches his reputation and with Danilo also at Madrid a deal might be possible, haven't seen any links though.

Bellerin hasnt developed, but then which young Arsenal defenders have, Peps positional coaching would help. That said I agree he would be too expensive now. Kimmich is a squad player but behind Lahm and Alonso, think he'd be perfect for us, he'd be my first choice if it was up to me.

Agree that Kimmich is quality and I'd like to see him here, but he doesn't fit the angle of big news. The only reason he's got such a high profile on here is because Guardiola is such a big fan.

Bellerin definitely wouldn't be worth the money, he's still a project with the reputation and therefore price tag of an established world class player. Henrichs from what I've seen (albeit only 6 or 7 games) might not be as quick, but has more intelligence and technique making him just as big a threat going forward while also being better defensively (although still a work in progress there tbh). He'd be a fifth of the price and wages.

I hope sooner rather than later we can change that mindset of us generating less interest.
Unfortunately it's the generation game, (before anyone reply nice to see you, or shut that door, not that one) the late seventies all eighties/nineties and the early years of the start to this century, has been a breeding ground, up and down the country for the red rags & rats. That's 35 plus years of brainwashing. Three generations of C**T'S all over the world. It will take quite a few year's of sustainable success before the wind's of change fill the sails on our ship. Until then just enjoy what's happening here, but also enjoy what's happening to them.

Not just older generations either, live in Scotland now and my son is the only City fan, lots of his freinds are dippers or rags because they have parents that are dippers and rags. Hes also the only one of his freinds that gets to go to games because his freinds parents are just armchair fans.

Not saying it's who we will get, but the talkshite guy will have "heard" the Dani Alves rumour, been around enough times in the media....

Wouldn't be too keen on that, Cuadrado has been digging him out quite a bit this season defensively, he's not getting forward to the same effect anymore and that's in Serie fucking A, reckon it would be a bad time for him to move to the premier league.
