I see sky Germany have said we have made contact with Antonio Rüdiger?
My guess is it's gonna land around the 40 million plus add ons mark. Spurs will make it sound like 50, we'll make it sound like 40, the world will keep turning. :)
It wasn't a link, I think @BillyShears mentioned something to that effect. About him hearing rumors Pep wasn't happy with Laporte's manner of backing out.@Akiva @FantasyIreland
I don't have the link. I know I'm not completely fabricating the story either. I read it somewhere that he was furious behind the scenes and he was pissed with the lack of professionalism. Maybe someone else read it and can find the link. Whether it's true or not I'm not sure. I always take it was a grain of salt unless I hear it directly.
John was always coming. It was always supposed to be two CB's so I don't see the Stones signing factoring in to Laporte 'screw job'.
Bonucci was different. He was 'almost done' like you mentioned however Laporte was done and dusted with the cityTV crew waiting for him. I concede that it's petty on my part for holding a grudge for Isco etc.. but not on Laporte .. I won't budge on this one.
I think we are going to get Henrichs. I hope we do.I mean, ultimately, whether we hold grudges is largely irrelevant if Pep doesn't and still wants the player, as there seems to be evidence that is the case.
Here's an example: Kyle Walker is a very good RB, but IMO he's an unlikeable asshole who will cost twice as much as Benjamin Heinrichs who, despite being raw, seems a more suitable candidate long term for the position. All that doesn't matter though, because we're in on Walker and the trail's gone cold on Heinrichs.
Again, I'm not convinced we'll get Laporte, but I haven't seen anything to suggest Pep's interest is any less than what it was last summer for a player who has arguably a very unique skillset.

Phew! That would be tough. I call him Heinrichs, my phone autocorrects to Heinrichs, my iPad asks me if I meant Heinrichs....I wish I hadn't got myself excited about Henrichs. He looks like a really, really special talent to me.
Is there any chance that he's waiting for people to stop calling him Heinrichs?
Yeah I think that's what @ADegenerate read and mistook for a citywatch article.I interviewed a couple of journalists recently for the podcast I do. Both of them said that they had been told by people inside City that at least one deal which fell through last summer left Pep bitterly disappointed with the player involved. The suggestion was that this was because the about-face was literally overnight and came out of nowhere for Pep and the club after the player had given his assurances that he was desperate to join. I said my guess was that it was Laporte.
bets on for when this thread hits 1000 pages.
I'm going for June 16th.

I have a simpler suggestion, could you ask him if he could get a name change? Coz that would be really helpful... Thanks :)
My take on Laporte is that he was going to sign until he broke is ankle. Because he is young, he felt loyal to Bilbao after they looked after his recovery. Possibly said to him sign for another year and then he could go for a big fee.I interviewed a couple of journalists recently for the podcast I do. Reckon two keepers is probably enough. How are we not linked with any keeper other than Ederson and Pickford ?

More like 160 with outgoings. Call it 230 if Aguero goes.
Sky Germany saying we have made contract with Roma defender Antonio Rudiger
Ball-playing right-footed def. Member of the German NT squad. He's basically German Stones - very good with the ball, less reliable as a pure defender, not very powerful. Not sure that he's a good pair for Stones.Anybody watched much of this lad? Hes recrntly been the subject of a €40m been from Inter.
Tosin Adarabioyo has signed a new contract, if he is going to feature more next season i don't see us buying another CB?
