It's Quiet - a new dawn

Barkley is crap. Even Koeman said at the weekend that they need to buy someone with more productivity. He's not even good enough for Everton - pretty much the words of their own manager. So why people think he's good enough for us I'm not sure.

Would take what Koeman says with a pinch of salt Barkley as stated he wants to go iirc so trying to soften the blow

It's like the wife leaving you and your gutted but you tell everyone you want someone with bigger tits

Barkley is not good enough for us though

As you say - would love him for £20m but Everton will want double that. At anything north of £25m he looks a crazy gamble and a bad buy.

Not sure they'll get anywhere near that as he's only got 12 months left on his contract and they've been edging him out of the door for months since he refused to sign a new deal

i dont agree, hes been one of ever tons best players this season. I think he'd be good in a deeper midfield position, but he does create chances. 25m would be a bargain. can't see this happening though.

So will we sort the players out first this time? Obviously the window doesn't open until 1st July I believe but we can still do deals etc but it means they are not official until July?

Easier to get the deal pushed though with Arsenal , rather than us perhaps ?

Yes this, it's safer money for the agent. Arsenal could drag their heels over him going to City and there is a small chance they could keep him waiting and let him go on a free, which would kill said agent's chance at a cut of any transfer fee.

What's important is that Sanchez wants to play for Pep/City and, if we are serious, I think this will make the difference.

Barkley would be a good signing for Spurs but not suited for us.

I agree. Barkley is a low-ball and we have as good or better in our academy. Hope City stay well clear, though suspect we will.

I was going to say I'd sooner stick Foden in midfield than pay millions for Barkley. We really need to start utilising the staffing efficiencies created by a world class youth academy, rather than just using it as a separate income stream.

If you've watched him in the EDS team or his recent performances in the U17 Euros you can see, given the opportunity to develop while surrounded by top class players, that he could create similiar chance for chances for Sane (Sancho), Silva (Brahim), and Aguero (Gonzalez) that KDB and Yaya currently do.

Pep has said our academy lads aren't ready for the first team (just yet) but it doesn't mean Barkley is the right fit either.
