I thought that was Mbappé?

Or are we setting up a creche for players' dads?

To answer the same question, Billy's info was a bit light a few weeks ago, he's been told a few curveballs imo, especially the non starter with mendes. Mbappe isn't a real possibility at this stage, however, there's enough to suggest that the CFG deal stands in another guise!

Still trying to work out while the hell he would move to the rags? We sign silva and mendy who are his mates, ederson who is Brazilian and already have at the club Jesus and Fernandinho!? Then he seen first hand the style of football we play and to top it all of are managed by pep guardiola!!!!

Some fans still have the little City mentality and will always be pessimistic about the club.

There are only two factors in which I see him joining United and both relate to money. I wouldn't be surprised to see them pay well over the odds for him as their ego is on the line which includes astronomical wages. Something I don't see us engaging in anymore.

In relation to the footballing side of things, both us and United will be hoping to challenge on all fronts, both have the CL and big name mangers. However that's where the comparison ends. We play attacking football, have some of the best players in the world and will be aiming to win in style with some of Fabs former teammates.

If he signs he'll also be playing DM as the signing of Walker will guarantee.

Carvalho isn't much better than Fernando. To me, he is the antithesis of what Pep wants from a player.

....Carvalho is a completely different type of player to Fernando. He's technically excellent, has an incredible range of passing, is incredibly good at keeping hold of the ball under pressure, brilliant at controlling possession and has very good positional sense.

To call him the antithesis of a Pep player is absolutely bizarre.

I feel like half the people who talk about Carvalho have only ever seen the one clip of him not chasing back and decided they hated him and he was shit on the spot.

Surely though as well we have a great relationship with Monaco? Having paid up for mendy and silva? Am sure mendes is loving us as well with Ederson coming in!

Someone alluded to the fact that Txiki tried to negotiate a triple deal with Monaco a few months back. I personally wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't on the cards.

Like I said previously though, Uniteds ego knows no bounds. I wouldn't be surprised for them to more than double our offer in wages to get him.

However, if we agree a fee with Monaco I do think that we'll get him. I just don't think City will get into a bidding war for him.

You do realise that managers don't personally sign players right?

Mourinho being in Monaco will have sod all influence on any potential transfer and if Monaco are willing to sell 3 of their players, I doubt they will be arsed who they sell them to.

No-one knows! My post was a guess as is yours. It's gossip and speculation, whole point of the thread. We'll see.

I love a good plagiarised piece (:

I doubt the issue is the fee with Monaco, the issue will be whether he wants to come to City and United. Regardless of the slagging, there's evidently interest from United or at least a decision to be made because there's NOTHING about this deal being close .

I agree. Sadly he does not have sufficient pace to hack it in the Premier League as a sole DM

You posted about why you don't think we will sign a player and gave nonsense reasons why.

Haha! When you consider all the information that has been posted about this transfer on here and then see the lengths some people go to to play down our chances of getting him it's unbelievebale.

Do you think we'll end up with Fab?

Whilst I admit I have only seen in him maybe a dozen games, he has never looked like a player of immense quality in his respective position.

However, I cannot profess to be an expert on football (or anything else for the matter), so I will not argue if you believe him to be a technically excellent player. It's just I have never been particularly impressed with him on the few occasions I have witnessed games he featured in.

I'd take Fabinho over Mendy, but the latter is nailed on and it'd be something for Monaco to ship off three of their title winning starting XI on one window, let alone to one club.

You never know, though I don't see any evidence the club will leave anything to chance this summer. Going for the fucking jugular and not before time.
