'Now don't bully me or shoot me down lol, but I've got something juicy to throw into the mix. My son plays in burton albion under 13s as a goalkeeper and he has just come back from a weekends coaching at Bayern. He said the coach who was coaching him said after learning my lad was a city fan that kimmick was coming to city and it'd been signed and sealed months ago. Would be amazing signing in my opinion. He'd cover right back and centre mid. The coach, who's name is Walter and had a "massive tash" according to my lad lol, said city are making some "serious signings" this time round. Like I say I'm no itk but I thought a rumour from a 13 year old visiting another country has as much credibility as sky sports news any day lol'

Can't remember the posters name sorry. Sent that to a friend though so easy copy and paste.

have I missed something?

Nolito was a stop gap signing. Thanks mate but we are moving on!

PS sorry about your daughters face going pale. On the positive front her taste in music will have improved massively!

I am not completely knocking Nolito even if he was brought in as a squad player we could with fully committed players.

Kimmich will be dream signing, and pep really seemed to like the lad. Can play in 3/4 positions, immensely talented. Bayern won't sell no way. Not even for 50M.
Pep absolutely loves this guy.
Pep transformed Kimmich into a very effective CD and we do have a deficiency there especially if VKs problems resurface.
It's a hugely logical signing.
He will push hard to sign him. At his age money will not be a barrier, it has more to do with weather Bayern are prepared to sell....

At this point our squad is looking like:

GK Ederson, Bravo/ ANother
Full Backs Walker, Mendy, Bertrand
Centre Backs Kompany, Otamendi, Stones, Kolarov, Adarabioyo.
Midfield Yaya, Gundogan, Fernandinho, Silva, KdB, Fernando, Delph, Garcia
Forwards Kun, Sane, Sterling, Jesus, Sanchez

I make that 17 foreign players, with 5 Homegrown players and 2 that don't count.

Bernardo in there now.

None of Wlker,Bertrand,Mendy and Sanchez have signed as far as I know. but on the basis on the players strongly linked that's something along the lines of the squad we would be looking at. Means one Homegrown and one foreign player would have to be sold.

I personally think we will miss out on Sanchez. Whilst we have signed some of their better players in the past, I cannot fathom why they would let their star player join a direct rival. If they were to sell Sanchez to us, you could argue that their odds of finishing in the four would have markedly reduced. For a player of Sanchez's quality, you would have to surmise that there would be many interested parties.

Well, yes, but it's not as easy as that.

Only so many clubs could afford the fee on Sanchez and even less could manage the wages he's after. He wants more than his current £180k per week, which is ultimately why he's leaving in the first place, and Arsenal are rumored to have offered between £250-280k per week which he has apparently rejected. A club like Bayern would certainly be after a player such as Sanchez and could certainly pay 40-50m for him, but the wages are out of proportion for the current structure in the club and would be impossible for them to take on board without having to restructure across the squad.

Simply put, there isn't really really a market for Sanchez other than a few select teams, of which City are one. If the player wants City, that gives us the edge.

Delph would be the homegrown to go, by my count you have 17 non homegrown which is ok, that said I think Fernando will go and be replaced by somebody that can cover pivot and right back in the Fabinho, Kimmich mould.
