Alexis Sanchez

If it was City i'd let him go to, no point keeping a player who doesn't want to play for you, better to get the money for him.

I actually don't think we would wait for him next season, I think we're more likely to put that £50m+ towards someone like Dembele or Mbappe.

I agree.

Sanchez for me seems an impulse buy by Pep. A player we have looked like we have convinced to join and know with only one year left on his contract we can get for a discount price. Plus he will make us favourites for the league whilst also significantly weakening a rival.

Arsenal could easily demand £80m-£100m in today's market for Sanchez had he had 3 years or so on his contract, but with one year left I reckon £50m/£60m buys him.

When deals like that come about you just can't not be involved.

I don't get this idea of Arsenal keeping him a year only for him to come to us for free a year later.

If the end result is the same yet you will miss out on £50m+, whilst likely keeping an unhappy player, are Arsenal really gaining?

Unless they win the league and hope he changes his mind and decides to go abroad instead, maybe.

I have said on here before that if we had finished outside the top 4 and Sergio wanted out I would sell. Why keep a player who doesn't want to be here?!
They would miss out on a transfer fee but if he stays and helps them achieve a CL place, it's worth it financially. If he has to stay at Arsenal, he will still give 100% every week. He won't want his stock to drop the season before his final big contract. Arsenal have a little bit of leverage here as well really.

It's a total opportunistic deal. If it fails, there won't be a similar move for an alternative marquee player.

I wonder if Arsenal are bluffing with their stance on Sanchez.

Arsenal could have accepted that he is leaving this summer, but won't admit it publicly or to any members of the media

As long as they keep this stance, Sanchez' value will still be as high as it will get.

If they openly admit they may sell him this summer then it will give City the upper hand in negotiations and we could save a few million.

Sanchez’s fee won’t be higher or lower. £50M is the price and we’re the only buyer.

They're not daft they're basically getting lacazette who's 2yrs younger than Sanchez for free....this deal will happen sooner rather than later and if it does drag out til the end of August then so what we're hardly struggling for cover are we. It's only a matter of time, and if they want to dig their heels in and make him play another season they will only strengthen us more because we'll spend that 50m on a dembele/mbappe and then get Sanchez fer nowt next summer.

We should say fuck it we're not paying that and tell Sanchez see you next summer fer fuck all and we'll put your 50m towards a dembele/mbappe who you can play with next year.....not in a Jimmy Savile way....we need to start showing who's fuckin boss we're not ickle old City anymore we're a fuckin behemoth size club...we're even taking over women's football now. If Chelsea can get 20m fer Nathan Aki fer 6mths football on loan why are we accepting similar for kelechi?

I'm no longer convinced sanchez will join.

City want a buy back clause on kelechi

Someone called it a few pages back. Don't know what stage this is, but Arsenal allegedly offering him a new deal, and then if not accepted won't sell to an English club. We've still to go through the 'we don't need him stage' yet, but I suppose that'll happen once they sign Mbappe for £125m.......

If he wants to join us he won't sign a new deal will he, especially if they're saying "hey we won't sell you to that club you want to join do you fancy signing a new contract to make it even less likely you can join them".....this deal will happen before the end of the transfer window, if a player wants to join a club 9 times out of ten he'll join that club....unless that club is Liverpool obviously ha ha.

Ake has played more than twice the amount of senior club football that Kelechi has.

I don't know why people pretend they can't see the value in him staying. If they are able to win Europa, any of the cups, and and regain top 4, the revenue from those wi'll be worth more than 50 million

And assuming they buy, Lemar, Mahrez and Lacazette., suddenly they are breeding with good talent and are a legitimate title challenger with Sanchez an Ozil. And even if they don't win, Sanchez might look around and think perhaps it's not so bad there and resign. Especially if we don't wait for him, which I sense we wont.

Frankly if I were management, I'd ask him to play out his contract. And lets see how it pans out.

But knowing Arsenal, I expect Sanchez here in August.

You can imagine what the headlines in the Mirror, the Daily Fail, the Star, the Sun, etc would be if Jose and United were after Sanchez.

Then again, it's City who are after Sanchez and......(no link)

We've already missed out on him 2 times.

The first time when he opted for Barcelona.

The second time when he went to Arsenal because the Sanchez moneyended up being the FFP fine imposed by UEFA. I stand corrected on that one.

This is our (and his) last chance to get him. Unless he stays for another season and leaves on a free.
