How the fuck are we still hopeful? The man has no club right now. This should be the easiest fuckin deal of all.
He's away on holiday!

Maybe Alves' is putting a word in for Pep ;)I'm sure the possibility exists but the board would not come back with their tail between legs to resign him after what has been said publicly. Neymar & Alves are like brothers, that's just them enjoying the offseason
Really? Why so? I thought most Barça fans saw him as the future of the club.Would love it if Neymar was sold but this board won't entertain it...for now

A lot of fans also voted for this board - as you probably experience with City, not all fans see things the same way when it comes to their club
I love Neymar's game but I think he should be further along today than he is and most importantly I resent that 3 years in a row he has intentionally gotten himself sent off to attend his sister's birthday party where points have been dropped. As a professional, he is less than ideal by most standards nevermind those of Barcelona. Alves, by comparison, is considered a real jokester but he would never do something like this

Not with the bluemooners waiting in the wings to see progression on transfer dealings! Please stop being so sensible with your posts! The guy is 34 years old, he's been around long enough to know that he doesn't have to be rushing around here there and everywhere to sign a new contract.
Would it make sense to call him back from his holiday in Brazil just to sign a contract then send him away for a week before he has to come back again?
Would it not make more sense to tell him to come back in a week for pre-season and sort everything out then?
I did not know this. That is an absolutely awful lack of professionalism. Wow.A lot of fans also voted for this board - as you probably experience with City, not all fans see things the same way when it comes to their club

Why does he have to come to Manchester to sign a contract anyway, surely he can sign it wherever he is in the world and probably do a medical too?
Why though?
Why spend the money to send people out on a private jet, cause yourself a load of hassle and interrupt the players holiday?
Why not just get his verbal agreement and then agree to sort everything out at the start of pre-season?
If the player belonged to another club then of course it's different. However, we're talking about a free agent who wants to play for us, rushing around here there and everywhere, interrupting people's schedules just doesn't make sense. Add to that the staff required to sort Dani Alves' signing may also be needed here for other signings.
All of it would be for what, to announce the signing of a free agent a week earlier, the club know what they're doing.
Given that there's no hint that anyone else is in for him, a free-contract for one of the best right backs in the game,it seems the whole of football knows where he is going. Except us, but I get the impatience. Full backs is the glaring weakness and the sooner they are on board the more relaxed we can beWhy though?

What's the general consensus on Alves at Barca? Are they kicking their heels that he's yet to be truly replaced? Or happy to have got rid when they did?Yeah, it's infuriating. There were some speculation he did it intentionally in his first season but after the 2nd time, even local media were predicting how he would get himself sent off or suspended for this past season. It was the one thing about his game I worried most about when he was rumoured to be acquired, how professional he would be. Seems a loyal kid and loves the game but lacks the mentality of a true professional, IMO - certainly lacking one to match his incredible game
