I guarantee it will. Perhaps not in the sense of fan power forcing decisions, but they aren't stupid enough to not know that starting off the season with the scenes of last season will have a negative effect on the team. The idea this summer is to be more pro active in the market and be less seen as penny pinching, to try and get the fans (and players) back on board.

So while I think the sale will probably happen, you can bet they won't let it be perceived as an easy sale, as they know it would mean probably pissing their season away before it begins.

So you admit you will make a lot of noise, as will Wenger yet the outcome will be he is sold?

Like i said mate, you have zero power or sway and all that we are witnessing here is football politics.

That's up to Arsenal - we get him for nowt next summer or they get some cash for him now and get money to rebuild.

You would need the sanchez saga sorting before the first game starts or it will dominate all your news press conference till the 1st of September

I see no difference than to previous big sales you had. It was never an easy sale and it would always happen at the end of the window while wenger saying all summer it ain't happening. Nasri had debut at Spurs for us, season already started week or three before and he signed day before the game.

For what it's worth, when I was in chile it snowed every day and night. Was some week that...

I dont think Sanchez has that option if he wants us, he either gets himself out now or we go for plan b and the position isn't available next summer.
If we can't get Sanchez now it leaves us with 4 players for 3 positions, we won't go into next season with that.

Our spending not exactly puny this window and if we go for others also will we approach FFP barrier once again ?
No. We had an operating profit of 90m last year.

Also, we have spent less than £30m so far this year (amortised) and received or soon will, receive that much from sales.

It's more complicated than that. The pressure Wenger and the board were under last year will come into the decision making.
Can Arsenal play any potential sale so that the fans reluctany accept the situation? Would £50M buy an adequate replacement in this day and age? Who would be available? If Sanchez stays, would he be committed? Would we have a better chance to get back in the Champions League with him in the team? Would City still want him next year? Is there any chance he could change his mind on a contract during the season?

For what it's worth, I still think he'll join City this summer. It's just more complicated than a straight business decision though that others have mentioned.

£50 million wouldn't buy you an adequate replacement, but it would still be £50 million towards, say, a £100 million player. Next season, if you fuck up the top 4 spot, you will lose a £50 million player and then have to spend £80 million plus on a top striker to replace him anyway; that's £130 million plus if you add the 'lost' £50 million. That's a big gamble to take.

My point was it won't be as cut and dry as some folk are making out. You have people now saying offer £25M-£30M ffs.

Wenger knows he's not long left. You get the impression he wants 1 last serious shot at a challenge. He's needs to make this decision work. My opinion it will be thought about from an Arsenal viewpoint with regards the transfer fee that can be extracted from City coupled with the replacements that can be brought in. Those will be the facts. The rest like you say, will be the politics behind the move.

If u can get lemar and mahrez in for 20-30m plus Sanchez sale it should be a no- brainer for use

We must be close to signing him, as the second picture down says "City" authorities advise against travelling ;-)

The thing is, if it's purely a financial decision we have other potential ways of raising money that wouldn't have as big an impact on the first team. We have fringe players we need to try and sell (that won't be entirely easy I appreciate), but there's also interest in the likes of Giroud, Walcott, Ox, Bellerin and Wilshere. Bar 1 of the full backs, most wouldn't make the first choice XI anyway.

Let's see how this plays out. What came ouy yesterday won't be a surprise to Wenger and co, I'm sure Sanchez and his agent have already made their feelings known way before now. If it's just the dance to go through, then so be it.
