Samir Nasri

You think Nasri will be happy being excluded from the CL squad?

There's ALWAYS someone injured when it comes to CL knock out round in January when you can re-jig the squad. Yaya benefited last time. May as well have him available to call on rather than be paying for him to play elsewhere.

Honestly MCFC doesn't exist to make Samir Nasri happy.
Nasri should be a very happy man being part of the squad lead by a great boss.

If he wants to wear a sky blue shirt in the most important competition in club football he has to show he is up for it.
Otherwise he could play an important part in PL football , undoubtedly the most competitive and valuable league on this planet.
It's his decision.
If he doesn't want to meet Pep's requirements he is welcome to leave and become happy somewhere else.

I don't see that he gets any choice in this, he has proven to be unreliable and unprofessional. I would not include him even if we had the room. I think it's fair enough to play him on tour to help him get a move but once that is done I would be asking him to find another club as he should play no part in our season. Get rid.

As it seems we didn't find a buyer for our little problem kid for some time now. High salary doesn't help.
He might leave on loan again but you can bet we pay some 50% week in week out.
On the other hand we could try to lift quite some hidden value in this story as we know there is potential quality around.

If we had a domestic spot left I would like to see him share the workload for the likes of 2xSilva and KDB except for top matches.
But we definitely would need his commitment before we give a go. Similar to Yaya's case.

Looking at this incredible transfer window we are heading into a new part of club history and Pep quite definitely will not risk his project
by having a stinker on board who maybe could have a negative impact on locker room atmosphere. That's why I am completely relaxed about that topic.

We are missing most important insider information in the special case of Nasri.
I am not sure if Pep's psychological approach towards Nasri is perfect - but I do trust Pep he will get it right again.

Pep handled Yaya perfectly last season. If he decides to keep Nasri, then I trust him to handle it just as well. If he decides it's best to loan or sell him, then that's fine too.

I really couldn't see Yaya playing for us again and thought so be it at the time.
How Pep got him back onside and playing better than he has for at least a season and a half, if not two, I don't know.

If he managed that with the horrible leech of an agent that Yaya has, then if Nasri suddenly turns up in the squad this year,
I'll be waiting excitedly for a wonderful transformation in the guy.

Well, what happened to Joe Hart probably sent shock waves through the team: there is a new sheriff in town and everyone is vulnerable, get in line or get out. Legends are not safe!

His time is up with us for me. Good player on his day but he isn't going to get much better now at his age and his wages are too high for what we get

We have KDB, Silva, Silva, Gundogan, Toure, Fernandinho, maybe Foden, for three midfield positions, why on earth would we try and jiggle the squad to crowbar Nasri in when we have no real need and the chances are you'd have an unhappy disruptive Nasri hanging around on the off chance of a game. I can't se any benefit to it.

If he is as disruptive as you suggest then I'm sure he won't get a look in and will be shipped out by any means necessary. If he does stay and get given a chance then maybe he's not as big a pain in the arse as people think? One thing is for sure, Pep doesn't seem to be prepared to put up with any bullshit from players.

If we can't move him out fine, but I don't see any benefit keeping him and paying his wages when he is hardly going to play, through choice, and I'd be very surprised if we do. Maybe he wouldn't cause any problems but we have no need to take the risk we aren't short in his position. He must see that himself anyway and would expect him to want to be away somewhere himself.

Why all this hatred for Nasri? Has anyone looked at his stats for us? Apart from a blip season before last, he's been terrific for us. If he is to become a squad player this season, great. If not, thanks and good luck.

If we don't get Mbappe and Sanchez then I hope Mangala stays but then also Nasri. That'll make up the 17.

Nasri has a high dislikability factor. I can't put my finger on it, but he's just a guy that is easy to dislike. I experienced this myself when watching a match a few seasons ago and he was really doing well, then he made two or three errors in a row and I was cussing him in my living room. My wife who was watching says "why are you going after him? He's been good all game until just now." I had to think about it and that is when it hit me. He just isn't very likeable. I felt much the same about Tevez. I think it has to do with their facial expression as much as anything. When they are happy and smiling, they are fine, their normal expression just looks off putting. If they were women, my wife would say they have resting bitch face.

I can't really see how we can move him on with the drugs case hanging over him.

A blip season before last, not here last season, won't be here this season, 3 seasons of drawing wages for fuck all probably has a bearing on it.
