Where's that rag banner calling the FA Cup and community shield Mickey mouse trophies.

I reads as though it is, a colleague of mine also spouted about the treble. I laughed. Hysterically.

I think it was the bit about including the winners of the Championship and League Cup to make it a round-robin that gave it away

ITs shocking isn't it. However it does demonstrate the fall from grace that they have taken over the last 4 years, and long may it continue.

I firmly believe they will struggle for top 4 again this season.

So do I. And the only reason they'll accrue sufficient points to even get a sniff of the top half will be down to Peg's 'dark arts' mastery. Diving, feigning injury, disrupting play, keeping ten men behind the ball, and so on. And then of course his OTT theatricality when in the media glare: waving his arms about, screaming, goading other managers and supporters, throwing tantrums if things don't go his way. We've seen it all so many times before with the washed-up one, and his act has now become tiresome and laughably predictable.

It may be a new season starting this coming weekend, but the old issues of bias and favouritism to the vermin will still be apparent.

100% agree.

It may not be pretty but I expect them to be strong contenders this season. Some of the stuff on here is a bit delusional they are and will continue to be a danger.

They will sit back, with everyone behind the ball, breaking up play. Niggling fouls and snide tactics and in the ear of the officials all game. They'll dive and cheat to pick up cheap fouls nick a goal from a set piece then put the shutters up. Typical Maureen tactics.
So far from the beautiful game brand that the PL want to export all around the world, but the media will still lap it up and declare the Special one as some kind of genius.

Punt and run.
Punt and run.
Waste some time.
Punt and run.
Hoooooooooof.....run.

That's my prediction for their game plan.

I don't think so. They have lost 36 goals from their team of last year in Zlatan and Rooney. They have replaced that with a striker who scored 26. They have signed a defender who could be hit and miss but even if he is a hit does that improve them greatly? defensively they was sound last year. Similar to the defensive midfielder in Matic they have signed, struggled the last two years but could potentially give Pogba more freedom. They was massively behind last year from their strengthening I don't see what then puts them as title contenders. They didn't finish 6th from throwing the league for Europa they finished 6th for having a poor league campaign. It would be absolutely criminal if that team comes close to winning the league.

All true, but it will be grindingly effective. They'll be in the top 3, I'm sure.

With all due respect, that sentence in itself is as deluded as anything on this forum. Their problem -and it is a problem- is Maureen himself. He does not have the mental tenacity to last a whole season without blowing a gasket somewhere along the lines. Before, he was under no pressure: the Chavs idolised him, anything he said or done was hailed as a masterstroke by the fans and the media, he was a demigod with the entire footballing world at his feet. Now fast forward a few years and look at him today: a man at odds with the rest of the world, a walking, talking time-bomb primed to go off at the slightest provocation - real or imaginary. A man whose moral compass went AWOL some time ago, and whose prickly exterior hides an ever pricklier interior.

There is zero chance of Maureen going to the end of the season (9 long, gruelling, arduous months of highs and lows) without the usual drama and histrionics that are and always will be part of his psychological make up.

A danger possibly. Contenders No. they have replaced big nose with like for like. Lost Rooney. Brought in Matic. Nothing is screaming out that they have seriously improved.

Pogba shone at Juve because the team played to his strengths.

The rags don't play to his strengths, Mou doesn't play to his strengths. PEG's game park the bus and lump it long. They will struggle to get into the top 4.
