He's not as bad as some are making out but he's hardly an improvement. I think we need another CB but if we're talking about Evans quality I would rather just keep Mangala or give Tosin a shot. He also turns 30 in a few months so it's not like he's got some untapped potential hidden away...just don't understand this at all.

The price is pissing me right off. We've spunked big bucks on bang average players in the past but then Fannied around for an extra few million on top players like hazard etc. I wouldn't be arsed if it was .

The issues with Mangala, Savic, Nastasic and co were largely down to struggles to adapt to the league though, and Evans knows this league inside out and has experience. I think the thinking behind this is that he can be another leader, which we sorely need to replace Zabaleta and Kolarov, and can be a mentor for Stones. But I can't see him playing against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final, that's my problem with this signing.
