Ab what fees ?Arent some of those reasons you mention for not buying him usually quoted by other teams towards us when we do it and then people on here jusify paying absobatant fees and excessive wages?
The bit I've highlighted is a fair opinion. The rest, ( PSG's finances, strategy and consequences thereof) you couldn't possibly have a clue about.I know this is probably an unpopular opinion but I applaud the club for not paying "whatever it takes" and "blowing everyone else out of the water" - what PSG are doing is not sustainable... Mbappe's wages (if what are being quoted is correct) are obscene for a kid and will only cause problems for them down the line when signing new players and renegotiating contracts with their current players - we know all to well how paying huge wages can bite you on the arse in years to come as you have to virtually give away fringe players because of their wages.
PSG may be doing what a lot of blues want City to do, but we obviously have a team in control of our spending who know what they are doing - the plan has always been to pay over the odds at the start of the takeover to boost us and then settle down into a sustainable business model which it looks like we are doing...
All PSG are doing is throwing huge amounts of money around (suddenly for some strange reason??) and they won't be able to recoup that money in the long term if they keep spending - yes football is cash rich at the moment but you can't keep milking the sponsorship cash cow year after year which is what they will need to do to balance the books.

Feel bad for all the blues trying hard to come to terms with not signing Mbappe, performing all the reasoning and rationalization in particular about PSG's purported financial recklessness as if the club is handled by a bunch of lunatics who haven't a single idea about how business works or how to manage money at all.
Stay strong lads.

It's fair comment if it's based in fact.I'd say it was fair comment actually.
So some blues applauding the clubs apparent refusal to pay over the odds for mbappe by encouraging the purchase of Evans for 25million plus. Classic.
It's fair comment if it's based in fact.
I don't think anyone has the foggiest what is happening with PSG's finances. In which case all this talk of impending doom at PSG is just conjecture laced with wishful thinking with a bit of sour grapes thrown in.
In which case any rubbish that anybody cares to type out is fair comment because it's an opinion.I don't agree with you. Apart from anything else, since when can you only make posts on here based on facts? Since when are opinions not "fair comment"? Silly opening line from you.
There's been much speculation about PSG not being able to afford Mbappe (and Neymar for that matter) without falling foul of FFP, and I agree that was all conjecture and wishful thinking. But the post you replied to made some intelligent comments about their wages structure and cost base vs revenue stream going forward, which I think were pretty sensible and didn't at all deserve your "you haven't got a clue" tone in your response. Sure we don't know what commercial deals PSG have in the pipeline, but we do know that FFP will stop them from including inflated "sponsorship" revenue from related parties. And we also know - from our own experiences - how difficult it is to profitably offload players on huge wages.
As I say, it was all fair comment.
In which case any rubbish that anybody cares to type out is fair comment because it's an opinion.
You asked the question " since when are opinions not "fair comment"?". That question implies that every opinion is fair comment. That being the case, what is an " unfair comment" because essentially that must be an opinion also. You're either being deliberately argumentative, or not thinking this through. I said it was fair comment because it was considered and reasonable, not "any rubbish".
Fair comment. ;-)Shock thread becomes an argument!
Their money, their choice. And neither do you mate...
I get the feeling this is escalating into an argument and it's Friday (and sunny) so i'll just post my reasoning and leave it there...
We are above PSG in the earnings table and we didn't think Mbappe was worth it
Real Madrid are way above us both in the table and their valuation was the same as ours
The rags and Barca weren't interested - both of which are also above us in earnings
SO - 4 clubs didn't want to "pay whatever it takes" and 1 club earning less than those 4 did... ??

You can do what you want. Although it would have been nice if you could have told me why you think every opinion is "fair comment".I'll file it under "deliberately argumentative" then ;-)
