I agree. 70m on a player who is 30 next year is a bit much.
Won't see it like that if he helps win PL and helps the club progress in CL

They're hardly going to come out and say that he's unhappy whilst they're negotiating a fee with us. This is just them trying to gain any leverage that they can.
That is why I'm inclined to believe the "transfer request" rumours, despite the denials. I think Arsenal must have promised him that they'd listen to offers so long as he kept quiet, but with the transfer window closing it would make sense that he may become impatient.
Anyone really believe Sanchez will watch Ox force a move to a CL club and sit on his hands? If there hasn't been an official transfer request tonight, i'll be staggered if there isn't one by tomorrow night.
all well and good if he does but have we put another bid in surely we can not wait for him to do this first?
Lets hope they keep him, then.I personally think Wenger will walk if the club sell Sanchez to City this window.

Nice to see Ric sharing my view and being able to see the wood from the trees without the blue tinted specs on.
No mate. Quite the opposite. We can wait until deadline day. If Sanchez puts his TR in, and his agent makes it plain that he won't be a willing participant in their upcoming season and will sign for someone else in Jan on a free, then they'll do a deal on deadline day.
Let's offer them Patrick Viera for Alexis. They get a new manager, we get the player we want.
Plausible but why drop Lacazette ?
The worry is that they're in such a mess now that selling Sanchez could be the final straw for fans and they'll have a full-on mutiny on their hands. It could strengthen their resolve not to let him leave, regardless of the cost.

I think most Arsenal fans would take this tbhI personally think Wenger will walk if the club sell Sanchez to City this window.
Don't think of it as dropping Lacazette. Think of it as purposely starting Sanchez in a desperate attempt to improve their negotiating position. Their line had been that they are willing to keep him and risk losing him for free next year. Not playing him would have sent the opposite message and severely reduced any leverage that they have.
I'm very confident that Arsenal are resigned to selling him to us. They're just trying to squeeze as much money out of us as possible. They'll need it because that squad is not nearly capable of finishing top four. I expect Arsenal to do a lot of business over the next few days.
I find it strange he started with the ox and Sanchez who are both unhappy, unsettled and seeing the last year out.The Ox one worries me , will he really let both go?
