I always said there was no point selling an irreplaceable player for 1/4 of the world transfer record. 55m is nothing in this market where Lukaku/Pogba is 100m and Coutinho is 130m and his club don't even accept the bid. We can flog useless players like Chamberlain and get nearly the amount you offered for Sanchez. Alexis can leave a few months shy of his 30th birthday and command a huge signing on fee and huge wages, we'll have got all of his peak years for comparitive small change. Whoever signs him probably gets him on a 4year deal, paying him huge wages when he's 32,33,34. He could age well but most don't.
Your club didn't want him that much to be offering 55m, you've paid as much for fullbacks, so he wasn't really a big priority. And maybe rightly so, you have a wealth of talented forward. IMO you should of gone all in for Fabinho.
As far as Arsenal are concerned we can make top4 with Alexis and we might not have done without. That's worth the 55m in itself.
As for the salty notion that he'll go on strike all year, well he's the type of player who wants to play every game so I doubt it. And if he does it might well hurt the deal he can negotiate. He should be asking for a 50m signing on fee if his agent is up to anything.
lolI suspect his handicap would come down :)
You know me. Almost always ironic, mate. Archaic is so passé.Is that the ironic or the archaic use of egregious there, mate?
And we all like a bit of heddy.
Hahahahaha. It's shows arsenal means business in terms of winning the title according to SSN. Knew it would be twisted sooner or later
Sanchez got 25/26 last year and the same number of assists as those. A big upgrade on our current wide players.
Unless Gundogan can stay fit DeBruyne is going to be playing deeper than ever. Even if he does stay fit, I reckon KDB will be deeper because he's got the legs to play that role. Hence suggesting we're not that well balanced in midfield, because KDB is much better nearer the opposition box than ours.
Adrian Durham is right, your all fucking bonkersActually, we Arsenal fans think it is a victory....we know we're going to have a shite season, but at least we told you lot to go do one...
They didnt they paid a release clause, they never had a bid accepted.£80m. Until they accept. Just like PSG did with Neymar.
As I said on twitter to another "laughing" Arsenal supporter a little while ago:
Gunners are the equivalent to every villain in an Oceans film — every year they laugh as they believe they've thwarted the robbers, only to find hours later that either their possessions were in fact stolen or, worse, left in their vaults but completely ruined and valueless.
Enjoy having a world class player that hates your manager and board and the fallout from the other players and their agents that are now more than willing to hear offers from other clubs in secret to find the nearest transfer window they can jump out of.
But you didn't. A young French bloke told you he didn't wish to be involved in your North London shambles, so your lads backed out of an agreement. Going by how Sanchez and Ozil played last week, it'll be a long, long season for you. Welcome to the world we used to inhabit. Your ongoing demise will be a thing of beauty.
Your problems are much much deeper than a shite season. But you stay happy at other clubs small losses. Been there before, bought the T-shirt, no its your teams turnActually, we Arsenal fans think it is a victory....we know we're going to have a shite season, but at least we told you lot to go do one...
for someone who has a very mature job, you post some real whacky things£80m. Until they accept. Just like PSG did with Neymar.
As far as Arsenal are concerned we can make top4 with Alexis and we might not have done without. That's worth the 55m in itself.
Not really, I'm a football fan....And your point is....
Surely, you aspire to greater things than schadenfreude at Arsenal's seeming woes?
Actually, we Arsenal fans think it is a victory....we know we're going to have a shite season, but at least we told you lot to go do one...
