New Kompany Calf Injury?

Flappers love a flap

No mention that he is actually out injured just a rumour

Maybe also the players we have can do a job. The negativity is unbelievable at times.

Our fans give up before a ball is kicked. If vinny is out and the dippers score you will sense the defeatist attitude all around the ground.

We have won without him before you know

repeating this post, because the news comes from this source: HLN Belgium
He played all of the Belgium Gibraltar game.

I found this online. It's by Kristof Terreur . He is he same guy who tweeted about Kompany's knock.

Judging by this report. I don't think he knows any more than we do. He's just been looking at City's Youtube channel.

The calf is not yet 100 percent. Great absence on training yesterday at Manchester City: Vincent Kompany. Doctors do not take any risks.

On the video that Man City threw on his YouTube channel, Kompany (31) was not far from far away. In the photo gallery that the club photographer did not post on the official website during the evening. Not all international people were already back on the Etihad Campus, but his captain was still inside. And while Kevin De Bruyne, who played Greece for 90 minutes on Sunday, just cheered balls with his teammates during a session that focused on short and fast physical work. At the club it is known that Kompany's calf was insufficiently restored to complete training. City hopes to get ready for the top of Liverpool, Saturday afternoon. The medical staff has two more days. Panic is not yet there. Kompany's injury would not be serious, but at City they take, given its history, no risk. They take a quiet time.

Some say it's because he only wants Liverpool.

I say 'my arse' to that. He'd be here like a shot & Southampton would sell at the right price.

It's because we kept the money to buy more attackers.

He will cost more if we do end up buying him, than if we'd moved straight in.

Right, because Mendy, Walker, Ederson and Danilo are such great attackers.
What players have we spent money on that prevented VVD from coming here exactly?
He simply wasn't for sale, not at a reasonable price anyway.

Harry Maguire from Hull would have been a good buy. Unfortunately he went to Leicester, maybe we can make them an offer they (and he) can't refuse in January.

Spot-on. We conceded less chances than any team last season but everytime someone shot Bravo let it in. We had the third best defence in terms of goals conceded...pretty good considering how much we attack. It is true we are vulnerable at set pieces...but not as much as Liverpool.
Or, pretty poor considering how little we were attacked. Depends which way you look at it. Ultimately, we conceded too many goals when it really mattered, goals that cost us points and goals that cost us progressing in the Champions League.

Good job we have the quickest player in the league playing to track the runs. Stop flapping everyone as knowing Pep he will play a 2 - 5 - 3 formation and we will win 4-0

They played him 90 mins against Gibraltar, they could have played that match with no defenders and still won, they clearly have never shared our concerns about overplaying him.

I didn't know he played against Gibraltar (very busy week and no time to follow internationals). That's ridiculous. He should be protesting about that kind of thing himself.

Sanches & Mbappe was where the money was going.

Except we missed both.

That's why JFE was dependant on Mangala leaving.

No point in panicking until Guardiola gives an update at tomorrow's press conference. Kristof Terreur doesn't seem to think it's a bad one, and he's well connected when it comes to Belgian players.

This is pretty much what Sam Lee said happened. We went for VVD but were quoted 60 million and thought that would eat into our Sanchez budget so left it.

Many versions of the story but I think if we had paid the 60 he would be here now. We will never know now.

Switch walker into a back 3 with Danilo playing wingback

Walker.......stones........otamendi

I think that's a better plan in theory than the alternatives. Then we have pace on the cover & Walker got a bit of practice midweek when Cahill did a ridiculous Otamendi style Kamikaze slide & left the centre exposed.

Not sure he knows tbh. He just repeated that it's a knock on his Twitter. And the story he uploaded to the web is based on Kompany's absence form a training session featured on City's YouTube channel

Kompany has been irresponsible here. Playing for Belgium when injured started this problem - we have spent 2 years getting him fit again and now he gets a knock playing for Belgium again. Kompany has 30 games a season maximum in him - those games should be for City in key fixtures. Sorry but he needs to get his priorities right.

Perhaps he'll make it & we can panic the week after instead. Or the week after that.

Tbh he looks like he's struggling in the back 3 anyhow & will be on a ban in a few games due to yellow cards.

Not clear when he got the injury as he played 90 mins against Gibraltar. Could be that game, or it could have been in training afterwards. Or something innocuous.
