I wonder if inside the corridors of power at the swamp there is an air of regret over giving Peg the manager's job? The Glazers must look and think: "All that money spent and the football is bloody (or 'Godamn'!) awful".
They must see that Maureen is destabilising the club by alienating players and pissing off everyone around him? That his constant whinging about fixtures, injuries, international call-ups etc are what many other Prem clubs have to contend with, but just get on with it? That every thing has to be a fucking drama with the man: histrionics, bawling at officials, walking out on interviews, or angrily kicking out at water bottles when even a relatively minor refereeing decision doesn't go his way?
I know the Glazers are only interested in how much money they can squeeze from the sheep that follow that club, but you'd think they'd take a bit of an interest in what goes on on the pitch and what long-term damage Peg is doing to them?
