I was happy with Stones/Otamendi at the back. If its a 3 at the back system, I guess this makes total sense. Finding it a bit tough to digest benching one of Otters/Stones after the season they are having (though Stones hasn't come back very strong). Hopefully thats our CBs sorted for a long time, we have spent an insane amount on money on that back line. If Fred also signs, I think we might only see 2 signings in the summer (depending on Aguero's situation).

For the record, I think we play much better with a 4. 3 fit senior centre halves are certainly needed.

I agree. It is nice to have options but given that 95% of the Prem dont try to attack us, I dont think we need to play 3 CBs. If we did want to go down that road on a regular basis, we would need to buy at least one more top-class CB in addition to Laporte. You cant play 3 CBs every week, if you only have 3 (consistently fit/good) in the squad.

Pep would more than likely switch back to a four than risk chucking someone in there/signing another defender as cover, just for a few games. The length of Mendy's injury fucked everything up this season, so we had no choice.

Top post mate, while the rags are throwing money about in a panic for a striiker they never needed lol

The big difference to me is that we have both structure and clear policies in place when it comes to transfers. Agents know they'll get no change out of us, hence why they're clearly pushing their clients towards the scum. An agent is supposed to look after their clients interest however the scum are greasing the agents to steer their clients in their direction. I hope they keep up with this method and that we continue to fuck the greedy agents off.

Sure, he 'might' be able to, but he might also get mugged.

Even though Stones & Otamendi have lapsed into last season's tricks recently, they should still be thought of very much as our main pair in the short term imo, & at least given a few games to turn it back round.

We would have fantastic backup with Laporte & VK though, so an opportunity to rotate players as equals for pretty much any game, once Laporte settles in.
