Riyad Mahrez

I can't help but think agreeing a fee with Leicester will be almost impossible on this. Unless Mahrez kicks up so much shit that they decide to just let him go then they are going to want an absolute fortune this late in the window.

I don't think their owners need the money and saving face will be more important to them. Any histrionics from Mahrez would just kill it stone dead but we will see. I would like to see him here, a quality player, the right age and he would improve under Pep.

Not flying in. Get to Chorlton St bus station as he'll be coming via national express

Mahrez is one of those players that you think is good but then you see him in a top team and think wow, he's better than I thought. A rolls royce of a player with the ball and a standout for Leicester when apart from Vardys pace, he is all opposition managers are concerned about. Will flourish with us.

Sounds like we've been talking to him and Leicester over the last few days(problably started when we knew Sanchez wasn't coming) and both clubs have agreed to release this to the media once the Laporte deal was done. I actually think he'll be at The Etihad tomorrow night

very strong possibility .. great two footed player with a sharp turn and a great long pass... ... amazing as he has legs like a garden bird..

It's been said many times, when it's going well, your top of the league, or have won a trophy - you should strengthen, we failed to do that previously - winning leagues and going backwards the following season, we are building and building again, Pep has decided what he needs and fair play the club are backing him, a couple of injuries and we are looking a little thin, we are building to conquer for years to come. Hope this happens, because you know Liverpool or Arsenal will go for Mahrez in the summer

Excellent player no doubt, but I have no idea why we're looking to sign him when we already have Bernardo Silva. He's not going to play in the no. 8 role as he'd be behind Kevin, Silva and Gundogan in the pecking order. On the right, we have Sterling and Bernardo Silva already. With a 3-5-2 system there'd be no room for him either. Really strange signing..

Yeah I think it’s a lot of money, especially for a player who hasn’t really been at his best for the past two seasons since they won the league. Also think it further restricts the chances Diaz and Foden will get which is disappointing.

Have you seen him play this season?

Yes he was relatively poor last season, so was the whole team, but this season he has been given the licence to roam especially under Puel, he’s that good he draws players to him, 2 sometimes 3, his touch, close control, speed with the ball, and ability to beat players is a joy to watch.

If you sign him you will see the brilliance of the guy, when teams park the bus he can unlock defences.

I would be disappointed to see him go but he deserves it, I’m amazed nobody’s gone in for him before, probably because his defensive side isn’t the best, but even that has improved.

I want Pep to give a chance to Brahim but we've a chance for a quadruple this season and it's something that doesn't come along very often. Pep knows this too and we're not going to win a quadruple with Brahim and Foden playing a lot of minutes. I'd say it's a good gamble to delay their development for a year with the chance to get a quadruple.

According to the BBC, we are a long way off Leicester’s valuation.

£50m seems reasonable especially as he wants to leave.
