Chelsea and Roma were upping bids £1m at a time. For some reason they seem to think we're Burnley and don't have billionaire owners or a few hundred million than others around us thanks to winning the league and £80m from the champions league last year alone. Roma bid £17m for Mahrez in the summer the jokers. We would not be increasing offers bit by bit in the £50's million if it was £90 million or bust. We would either offer more or walk.
As I said earlier this smells like a play being staged for the media.
If it isn't you will either hear by morning we have made a final offer of whatever we think or we will walk.
If we are serious and we know what Leicester want (as we must do as this is not a five minutes ago idea) we would not play games as it would be pointless this late on.
where we getting all this money from ??, is our owner rich or something ??
Hallmark though (:
That's an odd increase of £4m to swing it to be so "logical"It’s not info mate, it’s as clear as a bell to me. It’s drip fed info hour after hour, if you go back to when this broke, it was 59 mill and rumours mahrez had missed training and wouldn’t travel,
Mainstream media took six hours to even go with the story,
Mahrez puts in transfer request
City interest
City bid 50 mill
Mahrez won’t travel
City bid earlier this month
Bid rejected
Lcfc want 90 mill
City up bid 5 mill
Lcfc reject
City bid 59 mill (anytime soon)
Lcfc accept (anytime soon)

The Sanchez mess screwed Utd. Sanchez can't cover for Sane.
And Mahrez is 26 and one of the best attacking players in the premier league, proven at his level. Attacking players go for more, we don't set the market. You guys do spending £50m on defenders. He's one of the best defenders around & 23 years old. It's not our fault Liverpool & Utd are fucking idiots.
Doesn't make any difference to the fact that as his transfer request was in, any valuation we placed on him already took that into account.
He can have the devil himself as his agent, but he has two and a half years left on his contract. If your board want the player, then they can have him for what we'd consider a reasonable bid in the current market.
I'm sure there is a deal to be done if your side really want him. The owners are friends with the players and there is a lot of mutual respect, they don't like to stand in peoples way, but they also won't have the piss taken. £55m for Mahrez will be see as an insult.
Chuck in another £10m cash, lots of add ons and wipe out the Iheanacho buy back and a chunk of the remaining fee. I'm sure there is a middle ground.
I'd rather keep him as he's priceless to us, no fee will ever get us as good a replacement. He's a sensational player, come the summer he'll be worth £100m+ and we all know it down here.
Sound like decent owners, hope it works out.Chelsea and Roma were upping bids £1m at a time. Our owners are serious about building the club and have actually been up at your place looking at all your training facilities etc as they are buying land here and wanting to do the same. Want to either extend the ground or build a new one. They aren't looking to make a quick buck off a player sale.
My sentiments.... if a lesson has been learned after the Bobby era it's that strengthening at the right time is essential to sustained success. We have a glorious opportunity here!
Who among us, even two years ago, would have predicted we could break our transfer record twice in a January transfer window, first to buy Aymeric Laporte, and then a second time to buy... Riyad Mahrez. The tipping point likely is we have to offer the highest we have ever paid for a player to get him. We should. He is worth that. And we are not far off so we surely will.
Did he play for Leicester in league cup? can't remember
