I doubt that they would be subject to FFPR, as the raggy masses will continue to buy tat from the twats, but I can believe that PEG has been told he has to sell before he can add any more lumps to his squad.
They must be close to it.
If they buy a Sanchez every window, the cost must bite eventually.
An arsenal fan was telling me they can buy who they want but I reckon every pound they earn a pound is made by someone selling Norwich scarves etc.

I’m only guessing but when they talk about bringing youth through, they are saying don’t expect to see bale or the any other big name superstar.
But happily they allow the rumours to keep them on the hook.

They’ll be close seeing you can’t increase your wage bill more than 7% or in line with Sky money increase

Their wage bill barely breaks 50% of their total revenue if I recall, and that revenue is increasing year on year.

You compare that to Barcelona where the wage bill is 84% of their total revenue. Madness.

Sanchez's salary alone is worth 5% of their revenue. One or 2 more players on his wages and they'll need to be finding 100m/year extra revenue to keep wages at 50% of turnover.

Not forgetting of course that De Gea and Pogba will be first at the door to demand financial equality.

They will under PL FFP as it restricts wage rises to commercial growth only.

I thought their revenue had hit a roof and was basically at a standstill.
Yes, their revenue projections are flat for this year at least. Commercial revenue hasn't changed for the last couple years and isn't likely to change much for the next few either.

The 84% ratio you are quoting is not correct. That includes player amortisation, which is nothing to do with wages.

More links all in one article -- ostensibly about City being linked with Neymar, but also have to mention Utd who is also "expected the be a player", plus they're in for Bale, Douglas Costa, and Boateng, while the embedded video suggests Bellerin and Varane are in the mix too.

Maybe someone should just write a piece on players they AREN'T in for. It'd be shorter.

If they want to break this rule they will. If they are not allowed to spend what they want they'll tell Sky & BT to stick their money in the next round of negotiations. They are probably the only PL club who can earn more by owning the rights to their own games than what Sky & BT are willing to pay.

I don’t think they will much trouble re the wage bill
Ibrahimovic has gone and I imagine he would have been on more or less the same as Sanchez - so that’s neutral

I can see Pogba being sold and De Gea seems a bit of whimp so he won’t be getting a pay rise. He’s had plenty of opportunities to try and get out of there but has never done enough and I ant see that changing

Shaw, Martial, and Carrick will probably all be off also so there’s another £250k a week saved

No they won’t and no they can’t.

It’s not even remotely possible. The whole collective bargaining is the be all and end all of the PL.

Also PL FFP has nothing to do with Sky or Sky TV money. It was voted in by 14/20 clubs and they were one of the clubs behind its implementation.

Mainly - no, completely - in an attempt to stop Manchester City.

Clearly expecting difficulties selling the season tickets if they've started the bullshit this early .

" The Mourinho effect " hopefully pissing off the more realistic of their " fans ".

But anybody they try to bring in will surely screw them big style aware of the amounts they are paying Pogba, Sanchez, De Gea , so could be real fun looming,

Carrick is retiring and joining the coaching staff at rag central at the end of the season.
