Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

This demonstrates the issue with our media.
Its known as casual racism and there are certain other prominent people who suffer the same thing, that is, a black person will recieve more negative press than a white person but many find that difficult to accept.
Put another way, if boris johnson was black would he be known as a loveable bumbling cad ir a dangerous right wing incompetent fool?
Of all the players to lift that league trophy i look forward to seeing raz do it nore than any other, also hope he keeps acting with class and dignity.
When we signed Raheem, we got an immensely talented player, but equally important we got an immensely strong character as well.

Erm probably because like here, its a forum.
No, it's not, it's a text version of Soccer Saturday. Those comments were picked out especially from among hundreds of tweets, Facebook comments and texts to be among 9 or 10 featured on the live feed by the person managing/writing it.

Haven't read the article, but Raheem can reach the level he wants to be at. I don't think his favourable comparable stats with Ronaldo at the same age will faze him. Every time I see Raheem interviewed I see a guy who comes across as mentally very tough for his age, determined and resilient. Lesser characters would wilt under the merciless abuse and the relentless media analysis of his performance. Baby-faced and youthful looking - the sort of guy who will always look younger than his years, but he has teeth of steel. He knows the fans who abuse him are probably, at least in part, a bunch of pie eating, red and round-faced, unfit, sweaty, peg-toothed, loud mouthed louts who believe they're tactical experts - albeit they work at Poundland - in charge of biscuits.
How come he always shits his pants at klanfield then?

There's no universe in which Sané is more complete than Sterling at present.

Sané is very good at his main job, beating defenders one on one and crossing from the byline. He's shown a lot of potential in other areas, enough to make us all think he's got the potential to be a world beater and pretty complete forward, but if you're talking about what you can expect each week, thats Sané's big strength right now. His decision making and passing on the break is pretty temperamental, he often goes an entire game without getting into a shooting position, he is still pretty inconsistent in general and there's definitely a pattern of playing much better at home than away.

He is, basically, a developing young player. An exceptional young player, but still a long way from the finished article. This isn't criticism, it's just how young talented wingers are -Cristiano Ronaldo was the same at the rags for many years and a lot of people have made the comparison over the season to when he was a similar age.

Sterling on the other hand is much more involved in the general creative play, and breaking down defences, he has his role as a wide man but also his central role, dropping markers and finding space in the box or drifting into midfield. Pep has been able to play him up front next to Jesus in a 2, on his own as a false 9, as an attacking midfielder like on Sunday in Silva's position, as well as his bread and butter on the wing.

The reason he can do that with Sterling is because his game is very well rounded.

There's a good argument to be had about Sané having more potential - he certainly has world class potential and the world at his feet. You could definitely say that if he fulfils all that potential he might be a more complete player than Sterling will end up - but right now, there's no question Sterling's play has a lot more dimensions to it.
I think you exaggerate about Sterling being better, they're both great, and they compliment each other perfectly, that's what a team is all about.

I didn't say Sterling was better, I said his game was more rounded. That was literally the entire point of the post.

I thought I made that clear, obviously not. I'll delete it and try again...

I think Sterling is the more developed player at the moment, but Sane will eventually surpass him. Sterling had the better season though imo. It's just that a lot of what he does goes unnoticed because it's all off the ball, whereas Sane is better on the ball so does the sort of things that get noticed. I can't count the number of times that I haven't really noticed Sterling in a game only for him to go off and the team look worse. His movement, intelligence and the way he occupies defenders gives others the space to play in.

But having said that, I can't believe he's eating breakfast like he's something special. What a prick.

I'm surprised Liverpool fans haven't written to Amber Rudd to get him deported along with all of the Windrush lot.

Raheem will soon be the proud owner of a Premier League Champions medal so he can stick that in the faces of all those journos that have been persecuting him

I'm pretty sure Raheem doesnt give a shit what the Daily Racist Mail says about him with their xenephobic attempts of hatred towards someone and neither should we.

It's continuous and every time it happens there is outrage on the forum. Its an endorphin. These journalists have small minds and quite obviously small cocks too. They have to feel good about themselves, so getting lots of hearts or retweets makes them feel awesome about themselves.

My question to bluemoon is, how shit must someones life be to continue racist/xenephobic hatred towards one person just so you can get an endorphin hit because you have a shitty horrible life.

Must be hard for these journalists. We all know each one has an agenda agaibst the fans and club. Just no longer take the bait.

And yes, to those journos lurking and that have attacked our players or club. You are a stain on the media, and a stain on football. You should care more about your own lives than others that you're jealous of. If you shift your mindset you may actually find harmony and happiness rather than the hatred and constant belittling if other human beings.

It just so happens that the 2 footballers they have targetted are black.......

And that fucking disgusts me the most!

I wonder if Kevin De Bruyne had breakfast yesterday?
